Wisper Silent & Easy Cable Management
I recently upgraded to the Corsair RM850x SHIFT, and honestly, the side-mounted connectors are such a smart design. If you’ve ever struggled with plugging in cables in tight cases or near the bottom of your PC, you’ll appreciate how much easier this layout makes everything. Cable management was way cleaner, and it actually gave me more space to work with inside the case.Performance-wise, it’s rock solid. 850W is plenty of power for my setup, and everything has been running super stable. The unit is also really quiet — the fan barely kicks in, even under load, and when it does, it’s still whisper-quiet.Build quality is what you’d expect from Corsair — sturdy, premium feel, and comes with all the cables you need. Modular design means you only use what you need, keeping the build neat and airflow-friendly.If you're building a new PC or upgrading, the SHIFT is 100% worth considering. It’s not just about power — it’s about convenience and clean aesthetics, too.

Installation a breeze
Great power supply with side mounted connections to make cable routing easier. The unit is very quiet even when under load and appears to be good quality. The cables are non standard smaller connections but the unit does come with everything you require and additional cables can be bought if needed. Makes it much easier to install the power supply in a cramped case as there is no need to struggle trying to fit cables behind the power supply as it can be done with far side panel removed and then just easily plugged in.

All of the cables, in a new place.
I had been wanting to grab one of these for a long time. I remember the original hype surrounding them. But at the time I had a perfectly good PSU--until that old Corsair RM850x started acting weird and wasn't outputting 3.3v, which was causing issues with my NVMe drives. So it was time to buy a new one, and here we are writing this.It makes switching out cables as and when needed just less stressful. But you have to make sure that there's enough clearance between the connectors, and the side panel--which should be good for most mid-tower cases. But knowing that there is already a 12vHpwr cable include gave a piece of mind when I upgraded my graphics card from a RTX 3070 to a RTX 4070 Super further down the line. You should never use those adapters that graphics card manufacturers include if you can help it.The cables are a good length for most builds. But I really appreciate is that the cables here are flat, instead of traditionally and in the old days--rounded.I wish I had some super duper sophisticated equipment to test this out, but that's what professionals are for, and Youtube videos. Just buy this.

Yeah
Contained all the cables I needed including a 12vhpwr...for my RTX 4070.The downside for me is I didn't notice all the sockets were on the side of the psu. So you install the psu and then add the cables by removing the back panel. This results in an almost 90 degree bend of all cables that will push out against the back panel depending on your case.Another downside is that the psu sockets all are smaller than my last psu in my old build. I don't know if this is just a corsair thing or universal for every new psu. I was hoping to use my custom cables from my last build but the plug ends are too big for these sockets including a cleaner looking 12vhpr.Overall not too disappointed but be aware.

Easier for cable management.
Bought a second hand Corsair 4000d case and decided to go this 850x Shift route for cable management as I had the normal 850x which gave me no problems. I am so glad I went this route as it help me greatly especially with all the SSD's I have on board in the case

Solid power supply
Really good design and having the side mounted modular connectors is brilliant having struggled in the past with rear connectors. The cables are white coated, flexible and there are plenty supplied, even some more legacy four pin Molex connectors.

SOLID BUILD - A FIVE ✨ QUALITY
Had a 500W Seasonic PSU before this CORSAIR RM-1000 SHIFT and this looks more cleaner and tight looks. This PSU has the industry standard 80 plus GOLD whereas the old SEASONIC PSU didn't have any 80 plus standard because that's how old the PSU was. It runs cooler and quieter than the SEASONIC and some might say overkill because I just need a 500W so, thumbs up from me.My electric bill is still the same.size wise, I have a GIGABYTE 3D AURORA case It fits in (not really) but I can only manage to fit two screws to secure the PSU and and it's not secure and I cant fit my door because the Type 5 cables from the PSU are protruding , so I need a new case effectively.
