NEEWER Tripod Head Leveling Base Camera Leveler 3 Axis Tri Wheel Head, LP64

If you're into landscape photography, particularly panoramas, it's best to have the camera sitting exactly horizontal to ensure that the separate images line up correctly. This can be done by adjusting the legs, but it's a fiddly business. This nifty little device fits between the tripod and tripod head and makes it easy to achieve the required result. It has a circular bubble level and two tube levels to show when all is correct. It adds a little height, but this can be an advantage in some situations. It screws onto the tripod using a standard thread, and the tripod head is screwed onto the top. You can now rotate the camera in the horizontal plane with confidence, knowing that your images will all be aligned. It doesn't add much weight, so those long treks between locations aren't going to be more tiring for you. The thumbscrews can be locked in place once everything is level, though I've never found this to be necessary, and it's easily unscrewed from the tripod for transport. All in all, it's a very useful accessory.

I got this for mounting a Benro Polaris Astro tracking mount, which needs to be very level in order to track the stars accurately over a long period of time. This levelling base allows for very precise tuning. So it's slower to set up than a bowl-based levelling head, but more accurate. With astrophotography, putting the time into a proper setup is what makes the difference between a spectacular shot and a whole night wasted, and this base certainly helps. Once set up, the base is solid and sturdy, even with the weight of the tracking mount, camera and lens on it. Use it with a good tripod, take your time, and it will serve you well.

This is not intended as a quick and 'pan & tilt' or ball socket replacement. To me its function is to provide precise and accurate levelling of cameras or small telescope / binocular units. I use it for a small telescope unit, which requires accurate levelling. Levelling is achieved with three adjuster nuts, and all actions are smooth, the unit seams well made. Recommended.

Purchased this to do minute adjustments for my Wedge which my Seestar is mounted to, very well made, only downside is it's expensive for what it is

The device mounted between the camera (or in my case small smart telescope) and the tripod facilitates levelling with precision, without the trial-and-error required when fiddling with extending tripod legs. Not the cheapest of accessories, but it will last for ever. Recommended for the requirement - and a very desirable addition to any Seestar S50 set-up, particularly if used for solar viewing.

I bought this for my new Seestar S50 smart telescope, as trying to level the scope by adjusting the legs of the tripod is difficult; this makes it so much easier. Not much more to say, it seems well made, the adjuster wheels move smoothly. For my application with a heavy(ish) 3kg telescope, this mechanism is better than a ball head.

I bought this impressive leveller on advice from friends. It was for my smart telescope. Levelling up on my large tripod has never been easier. Fully recommended

Tras meses de uso intensivo en salidas nocturnas y terrenos irregulares, comparto mi análisis detallado sobre su rendimiento y construcción. ⚙️ DISEÑO Y CONSTRUCCIÓN PREMIUM El dispositivo está fabricado en aleación de aluminio de grado aeronáutico con mecanizado CNC. Al tacto ofrece una robustez excelente; no hay holguras en las roscas ni en los ejes, transmitiendo la seguridad que requiere un equipo óptico. La almohadilla antideslizante superior integrada (visible en las fotos) evita micro-desplazamientos no deseados causados por el viento o el peso del propio telescopio. 🔭 OPERATIVIDAD EN EL CAMPO (El "Game Changer" para astrofotografía) Nivelar el trípode original del Seestar S50 extendiendo o encogiendo las patas en el campo es una tarea tediosa. Al colocar este accesorio entre el trípode y el dispositivo, el flujo de trabajo cambia por completo: Sincronización con la App: Al calibrar el horizonte en la aplicación de Seestar, solo hay que girar las ruedas triples rojas de forma suave. Como muestro en la captura de pantalla adjunta, se logra alcanzar el 0.0° de nivelación absoluta en escasos segundos y sin ningún esfuerzo. Precisión milimétrica: El rango de ajuste de +/-5° es más que suficiente si haces una nivelación aproximada previa con las patas del trípode [137]. Seguridad de bloqueo: Cada rueda incorpora un tornillo de mariposa lateral para fijar la posición. Esto garantiza que el nivel no se desvíe durante sesiones de seguimiento prolongadas o largas exposiciones. 🔍 DETALLES TÉCNICOS Y COMPATIBILIDAD Cuenta con una rosca superior de 3/8" que se adapta directamente a la base del Seestar, e incluye compatibilidad inferior estándar para trípodes fotográficos convencionales. Aunque el nivelador incorpora 3 niveles de burbuja físicos bien calibrados, en mi caso de uso me fío por completo del giroscopio digital de la app, pero es un excelente añadido de respaldo para fotografía de paisajes o panorámicas convencionales. 🟢 PROS Ahorro de tiempo drástico: Permite conseguir una nivelación perfecta de 0.0° en segundos sin pelearse con las patas del trípode. Materiales de alta gama: Aluminio CNC resistente a la intemperie y al desgaste mecánico continuado. Estabilidad absoluta: Soporta hasta 15 kg sin ceder un solo milímetro, excediendo con creces el peso del Seestar. 🔴 CONTRAS Añade altura y peso al equipo: Con unos 240 gramos extras, incrementa ligeramente el peso del kit de transporte, aunque la penalización es mínima comparada con el beneficio que aporta. Rango de +/-5° limitado: Si el suelo es extremadamente empinado, tendrás que corregir primero de forma manual con el trípode antes de usar las ruedas de ajuste fino [137]. 📝 CONCLUSIÓN Si tienes un telescopio inteligente tipo Seestar S50 o realizas astrofotografía de seguimiento (Star Trackers), el NEEWER LP64 no es un capricho, es una herramienta indispensable. Acquistata per rendere più facile e veloce la messa in bolla del Seestar S50. Ho sostituito la testa a sfera originale del treppiede che avevo acquistato con questa base di livellamento, e ora l’aggiustamento orizzontale del Seestar, tramite l’app dedicata, richiede pochi secondi. Dopo aver fatto una messa in bolla approssimativa del treppiede, ed averci avvitato sopra il Seestar, basta regolare le 3 rotelline fino a quando i due cerchi nell’app Seestar coincidono. Questo dispositivo a mio parere può far risparmiare parecchio tempo.
