Cut through hardened steel really well but keep non stop oiled when doing so. Bits seems kind of brittle one broke when drilling through aluminum which was really odd. Okay deal for the money.

These drills come in a nice, sturdy metal case. However ... the problem is, opening the case!. The cover doesn't just lift up; I had to pry it open with a flat screwdriver. In doing so, I immediately broke the cheap plastic handle at the end of the cover. Finally, with some real effort, I pried it open. If you meet with the same problem, pry it (gently but firmly) at the corners, not where the handle is.As for the drill bits themselves, they are fine. I used one today, and it went through metal as if it were going through butter. Looked perfect after using it. So, since the drill bits are fine, I decided not to return ... but be careful when opening the case! One star off for the cheap handle and the difficulty of getting the case open.

I have not used these yet bu from all the reviews I am counting on them being better than average. Some of the reports of the case being hard to open is not necessarily accurate. It is easy to open once you take the time to figure it out. Just grab that plastic handle and pull forward. It opens easily but the manufacturer should put a small directions insert in if people are tearing up the case trying to get into it. I am no idiot but still I started to use a screw driver to open the case when I stopped and thought "Who in their right mind would do make a drill case that will just tick buyers off?" I held it up to the light and saw the two little humps under the lid and tugged and "voila!"

Very good drill bits. Do the job asked of them without complaint for most projects. Normal and harder steel presented no trouble. However, for the hardest and strongest tempered steel they are grossly out matched. I needed the 1/8” bit to drill four holes in the tang of my knife in order to customize a handle for it. The knife is made from the hardest tempered steel I have ever encountered. The bit barely made a dimple in the steel and the heat it generated only made the steel stronger and harder at that spot. For this steel I found I needed a carbide tipped masonry bit. It cut through the steel with no problem at all. I had to use two of these bits as the process wore the bits down to a nub.

I am very happy with these - the bits instantly feel as a high quality item and well made, there were no doubts that all of them would be true and spin straight. Someone in the reviews complained about the box, but mine is very nice, opens easily and the plastic clip on top is sturdy.Where these drill bits shine is in the actual drilling :) - I work with race car preparation and customization, I have to do a lot of fabrication from stainless steel and these bits cut into it without a problem, the sharp end design also seems to be well though out, because it is easy to start a hole even on pipes, the initial "bite" is very good.I really hope this company will be introducing more products like step drills, as i will be definitely buying their stuff.

I like em. Tho they dont cut through hardend steel like they say. I hardend some 1095 to make a knife and i went to cut the pin holes thw bit just slid across the blade. I had to anneal the knife to drill the holes. Im not complaining these are good bits def woth the money. But i hate when lies are used to sell an item....
