no QR codes & high-pitched bg noise in videos
I LOVE MY FLIP PHONE. i got it 10ish months ago & couldn't be happier. everything works. snapchat works, tiktok works, instagram works, firefox works, venmo, canvas, duolingo, discord, my bank app, libby, lettorboxd, duo mobile, life360, mychart, email, youtube, YES.it brings delight everywhere. everyone is dazzled by the throwback & blindsided that it's a touchscreen. it's basically just a 2.8-in-tall android. I got a phone case to glam it up only, because this thing is a tank as it is. I fling it around lots.and the camera is DREAMY. so much better than I expected, it has a retro digital camera look, and the image is sharper than the smart Tracfones I always used (before i took a gamble on a pixel & it shattered like a bowl of spaghetti spilling out of its heavy-duty case &screen protector). i use Mint Mobile & it works fantastic. i'm never going back to a "real" phone!!this thing's like, JUST inaccessible enough to discourage extended use (like reading before bed) to help encourage healthy habits & much less scrolling. battery life is kinda goated until my friends made me let life360 stay on in the bg, but still easily easily lasts me the full day. ALSO!!! you can change the background of the outer screen thing. it rules.they do warn you that tap-to-pay doesn't work. more importantly, i've never managed to swing a QR code, it just doesn't happen. and if you record any video, there will be a high-pitched ringing noise in the background. your friends on snapchat and tiktok will complain about it but oh well. gboard was hilariously tiny until i uninstalled it to force myself to actually use the keypad as God intended. the keypad is a learning curve but i enjoy spending the extra time. voice typing is always a super convenient alternative. the only thing I wish there was a fix for was needing to wait for the letter selection to finalize if the next letter you're gonna type is on the same key... or else it will just continue rotating through the options. mildly annoying, but well worth the struggle. ah, and no headphone jack, but that's typical nowadays.i love this item to bits. astonished to have not run out of storage space yet. sorry it's over 60$ now they're catching on to how awesome this is but i promise you will love it

Reliable, Durable, and Functional: Cat S22 Flip Phone Exceeds Expectations
I recently got the Cat S22 Flip (16GB), and I’m thoroughly impressed with its performance. This phone combines the simplicity of a flip phone with the features of a modern smartphone. The 2.8” touchscreen is responsive and easy to navigate, even for those who prefer something smaller and more straightforward. The Android 11 operating system provides a smooth, user-friendly experience, while the 16GB of storage is sufficient for all my essential apps and media. What sets the Cat S22 Flip apart is its rugged design. With an IP68 water-resistant rating, I don’t have to worry about getting caught in the rain or accidentally dropping it in water. The phone’s military-grade durability makes it a great choice for those who need a phone that can handle tough conditions. It’s not only built to last but also offers 4G LTE connectivity, ensuring I can stay connected with fast internet speeds on T-Mobile or MetroPCS networks.Overall, the Cat S22 Flip is an excellent device for anyone seeking a reliable, durable, and functional phone. It’s perfect for those who want a no-fuss smartphone experience without compromising on toughness or performance. Whether you’re working outdoors, traveling, or simply prefer a more compact device, this phone is a great choice!

not a good choice for a dumbphone.. abandoned by CAT and Tmobile
EDIT: 1 stars. This phone has expandable memory, yet cannot handle an sd card formatted for extra internal memory. I've returned the phone, since thats a huge dealbreaker for me. Good luck having any pictures or data outside of a few apps with a measly 16gb internal. Not to mention it always read the sd as corrupted, and would restart itself randomly. Shame. I really liked this phone save for these issues.------------I was looking to switch to a flip phone since the smart phone is too much these days. It was a big distraction for me at work and home and figured enough is enough. The Cat S22 Flip is like a dumphone with some smart features. Its running Android 11 and has the Google Play store meaning you can install apps on it. There are some issues I have with the device after approx. 5 days of usage though. 😓The native T9 keyboard on this phone is atrocious and you're gonna want to get the 'Old T9 Keyboard' on the app store if you want to use the physical keyboard properly. It has expandable storage which I've been having some issues with (Rebooting causes the 128gb microSD I bought for it to wack out and deletes all my pictures/data..) thats an issue you may run into dealing with this phone. Sometimes it behaves well, other times not so much. But try not to handle it like a tanky Galaxy device, its processor does the job well but it does run a little slower as one would expect. The battery life is good. My previous phone (Galaxy S21) died almost every day! I was impressed to find out that the Cat S22's battery has lasted almost 2 days on a single full charge. I downloaded some music and even during streaming that it didnt drastically drain the battery at all which has me suprised.
