Good Little Ceramic Pieces
These are decent ceramic tiles. The corners were a little uneven, but workable. They are unfinished, and suck in any moisture or paint or whatever as such. Keep that in mind for any projects. I used these for acrylic pour coasters, and they worked great. The paint dried very quickly due to the aforementioned unfinished properties, which was nice. If you’re trying to do something that needs a non absorbent surface, you may have a problem. The cork pieces they come with do seem to stick well, and it was nice to be able to slap those on with the peel and stick pieces vs cut your own.I did have a weird issue with these though. I ordered the hexagon shape, the hexagon shape was marked on the box, but I opened them and they were squares. Still decided to use them and they worked, but not quite what I ordered.

Perfect for Acrylics
Bought these originally to try alcohol painting on them, but the alcohol paint absorbed immediately into the coaster. So they are super absorbent! Ended up using the with acrylics instead and they look great!

Terrible cork backing
Cork backing very thin and paper did not peel off which caused corking to crumble off. These are not prepared for alcohol ink at all.

Using these as favors for my wedding!
I can’t wait to have these out as place settings at my wedding! Cricut vinyl adhered so quick and easy with transfer tape. I put a couple coats of dishwasher safe gloss mod podge over them though - the unfinished tile gets nicked/scratched very easily!

Not for Alcohol Ink!!
The coasters are actually really good quality. They're thick and sturdy and smoothe. They advertised as being good for alcohol ink, but when my kids and I tried, the coasters soaked up the ink immediately so there was no way to really blend it. They did NOT turn out how we were hoping and we won't be giving them as gifts, but we had fun anyway. A bonus is that if you mess up one side you can turn it over and later cover the mess up with the cork backing. I haven't tested the stickiness of the backing yet.

Porous for most paint projects
I bought these coasters to do fluid art. I usually use square ceramic tile plus cork backing. I was excited to try this shape. The tiles were not packaged with paper between each tile as you’ll see on a box of ceramic tile. This would help protect each tile. Here’s a challenge: the tiles are too porous for alcohol inks, acrylics or resin. To use them, I had to apply gesso which didn’t work well. I’m now trying an acrylic primer. But, this adds cost and time to each tile. And requires a fair bit of drying time before they can be used. Time is money and at just under $2 per coaster…The cork backing is quite thin. I’m not sure that it will be substantial enough to protect surfaces or buffer the tile itself.Note that the tiles measure 4x4” at the longest point. This means they’re a fair bit smaller than a square 4x4” tile. They are big enough for an average mug though.
