A great read that will open up your eyes.
I am a conservative that identifies with independents. The book overall was very good. It really can open up your eyes about issues and problems today that some people seem to ignore. Sometimes, we as Americans, get caught up with the thought that we are better than people from poorer Countries, and this book really helped me re-evaluate a lot of things. I would highly recommend this book as it will give you a different viewpoint on how to look at things and how the system is not fair to everybody.

A Must Read!
A wonderful and fascinating read that delves into practically every social issue ranging from economic, political, gender, race, etc. This book is a must read for anyone majoring in sociology or is curious about why the US is the way it is today. One of the few textbooks that had my attention the entire time!

An interesting read.
For the most part an informative introduction and application of sociology. However, the last chapter is filled with fear mongering about technology damaging society. There are also many places where there is no objectivity, but if you already have a liberal bias then you'll still enjoy it.

Fairly interesting read, but definitely the least scientific, and most opinionated book I have ever read.
