For the first track, this is a good choice. There are a variety of options to keep children engaged.Like all toys, and Brio, it is expensive but it does provide hours of engagement.

OK, this is not a review about whether or not to buy a wooden train set for a little boy (a no brainer, they love them), but rather about which one. Took us a long time to decide and our thoughts, briefly, are that you probably can't go wrong with whichever choice of brand you make. Yes, these are a little dearer, but the quality is also clear. The trains are plastic but with good thickness and detail. The colours are bright and attractive and they are nicely tactile. But, they are not wood, as some purists have commented. If trodden on they probably will break, whereas the more blocky types (eg bigjgs) would be more robust. The figures here resemble the playmobil, type, rather than the more cut-out shape of some brands. Overall we are really pleased with this road and rail set.

I purchased this some while ago. The boy who it was given has played with it a lot and has looked after it. A brilliant toy worth every penny.

We bought this for one of our grandchildren as we had one for our children over 30 years ago, they are expensive but of good quality and should provide for several years of fun for two little ones. Pleased with the purchase.

This is a great quality toy, the figures can sit in the train and the bus, and this, I think, makes it a great toy for girls as well as boys. The train moves along grooves on the track, the cars move in grooves on the wooden road. There is a station and a couple of level crossings, and if a success bits of track, road and other accessories can be bought and added later. It was a present for my young niece, and although she is young, she seems very interested in putting the figures in the train and bus and pushing them around, although not yet on the tracks. My son had a Brio train set and he had years of fun from it. First class toy.

Our 4 year old grandson got this for Christmas. The brio train set is such good quality; a well thought out collection of items so play is varied and different each time. He has had hours of fun with it and loves building new tracks.

We order three different sets of Brio for my Granddaughters birthday. World-Farm Railway Set, World-Rail & Road Travel Set and World-Parking Garage. These are fantastic. Well made and they all interlink so different add on's can be bought for gifts over time. Once set up she played for hours with these sets. Would recommend and purchase more.
