Hi, Yes the camera does record video. I have just tried it! There is a small red dot button my the zoom/picture button on top of the camera and that starts/stops the video. Hope that helps. The charger needed an adapter as it was european plug type. Also the instructions with the camera are not in English. You can download UK instructions. Does not take panoramic pictures.

Can I transfer my photos from this camera direct to a macbook air?

I can transfer to my Windows Laptop. I see no reason why not
