First things first, the overall piece itself is very well crafted, looks clean and intricate, and the light-up function is surprisingly elegant and a nice addition to a concept I've seen before. The castle scene generates a lot of conversations with visitors to my office, and I couldn't be happier with the little scene greeting me every morning when I enter my office.The pen-holder is a nice touch, and just as sturdy as the rest of the piece itself. The base gives the piece good weight while not being cumbersome, and once completely torn off the pad has truly been a nice keepsake.However, as a memo pad I would put this down as maybe 50% effective. While the lighter colored paper works well enough, it does have a coating on it that I believe is there to make the castle more sturdy but also hampers the ability of some pens to write on it, and the dark colors cannot be written on at all unless you have a special sharpie or paint pen. Since that makes up half the note pad, you can see why it's only half as effective as a regular pad.Also, the tear-offs are perforated in the middle, which I think isn't necessary. I feel they are there to allow for a nice, squared off look to the memos you leave, but they also shrink the available space for said memos. The one saving grace for these tear-offs are the cute little designs such as owls and brooms that are etched into them marking a nice little surprise throughout the deck for you to find as you go through it.That's a lot to say about one relatively minor complaint, as the rest of this pad is exquisite and will definitely last much longer as the conversation piece vs. the memo pad anyway. I love it, and it's definitely going to keep being a wonderful addition to my office setup as a scene of fun and magic!

This comes in an acrylic container which was a little tough to get it out. Its a full block when you first get it, and then when you take a page off, it is perforated in an random way at the top edge. But you know, as you continue to use them, it will eventually make some pretty castle model. Each note is also perforated at the half page mark if you want a square or rectangular note instead of an irregular sheet. The pages are nice and thick and write well with any instrument. I am not sure the price warrants what you are getting in a note pad, even though its pretty cool. As I said, its really unique and would make a really good gift.

This is such a neat idea - I've seen these before but this is the first time I've seen them with lights AND a pen holder! I like getting cute little things to display but I tend to feel like they're a waste of space if they're not useful. This little display piece is actually a useable pen holder and a notepad so it's like the perfect thing to put on my desk. Cute AND useful!The paper this is made of seems to be high quality cardstock and even has a shimmer effect on them (for the ones I used so far at least). They are easy enough to detach as long as you follow the instructions (don't pull up, pull out). They do not have any sticky backings, but you can still attach them to something using scotch/washi tape. Each of the note cards has a perforation across the middle so that you can fold/stand it (and have a cute little character - a hat, owl, ect) or just detach it from the wiggly end and have a clean card.I really liked that this came with a thick clear box that you can keep the notepad it. it'll keep your little display free of dust or damage.Some of the cards are a bit hard to write on with certain pens - either do to the shimmer on the paper or to how dark some of the papers are. You may need to switch up your pen depending on the card you pull.Overall, LOVE this little guy and it's making me take more notes and keeping me more organized. This would be great piece to display on your own desk or to gift to someone. I expected that due to the price this would be a four star item for me, but the company put so much thought into the longevity of this product that I feel it's fair to give them five stars.

I am a self diagnosed stationary junkie. I love stationary supplies. I also enjoy statement pieces so this fit perfectly into both of those areas for me. The paper feels nice but isn't so great to write on. I think it is moreso meant to be the statement piece than the notepad which a little disappointing but overall I still really like this.

As I tore off each sheet of paper, the design slowly transformed into a stunning 3D art work, in this case a castle. The paper is thick and of high quality, with a lovely color that changes as you progress through the notepad. This is truly a classy item and would make a fantastic gift for anyone who appreciates the arts and crafts. With 240 sheets, this sticky memo notepad is sure to bring joy and creativity to any workspace.

So my only really complaint so far is how small this is. It's really well made and I know the details are amazing but it's definitely not the best value comparatively.

I love this gift /note card stack / office decoration! The note cards are a little on the small side, but the laser cut outs on some of them are just awesome! They are perfect for a quick note to drop in my kids' lunchbox! Once all the note cards are pulled off, the castle appears and lights up with a switch! It is absolutely stunning! I will be getting more to gift others!
