Expensive keyboard but brilliant build and feel. Personally worth the price
So I've been using the Alloy Elite for about a month now and frankly its really good. In terms of gaming I really haven't seen that much of a difference in how it feels though I haven't played many fps as of late so that point may be mute. With that said for me this keyboard really shines in 2 places; the make of the keyboard, and the feel of typing on it. the chassis is a fully metal chassis and whilst it adds quite a heft to the board it feels like a premium product. As for the typing it's great I'm typing this review on my Alloy Elite and the feel of it is great, the travel distance is different to what I'm used to but not in a bad way and the key switches are great (I mean their Cherry MX so...). all in all its an expensive keyboard yes, with good reason to expensive for some people to justify but with that said HyperX hasn't just thrown that money away. they've built a premium keyboard that personally is worth the price.

One of the Best Keyboards I've Ever Used
Absolutely incredible keyboard. Stunning metallic and backlit design, beautiful Cherry Red switch sound (reminiscent of a typewriter) and excellent functionality, with a simple volume scroll wheel and media tools. HyperX are very much now the heart of my setup.

Great product even better customer service
Thought I would write a review today after receiving fantastic service from this company. I bought this keyboard for my son for Xmas 2017 and 12 months later after many hours of use, a couple of keys broke. I contacted the company via Amazon helpdesk and within a day of communication I received a new set of keys!Absolutely fantastic as my son loves the product, definitely would recommend.

Fantastic keyboard
I am a bit of a hyper X fan and this keyboard just feels quality. Been using it for over a year now and absolutely no problems. Even hit the damn thing when raging several times and its never damaged. Only thing i will say is that occassionally the volume control switches priority over google chrome, spotify and general volume when operating but Im pretty sure thats an error on my part.

Excellent apart from ......
Before going into my review, I have to commend Hyper X for their excellent customer care. I had a number of keys break but Hyper X replaced really fast and with zero quibbles !Had my trusty MS mechanical keyboard for over 20 years and, in fact, was still in perfect working order. But it was looking rather shabby and dated so I thought I’d treat myself.Wow wish I’d bought this sooner.Superb ,tank like, quality and construction but still looking really slick and stylish .The key switches are excellent and I love that I have a volume control right at my finger tips; a feature I would truly miss now.The lit keys look gorgeous and very classy without looking too OTT; there are 3 levels of intensity. My only gripe, and really quite unforgivable, is that unless you are right over the keyboard you cannot see the caps lock light! I’m a bit of a messy left hand typer and this is really annoying.Whoever designed the light placement really wants to hang their head in shame !

BEWARE - Key caps are weak and break easily.
I write this review 6 months after purchasing the keyboard. Sure, it's a nice keyboard to use, excellent feel, great for gaming. The volume wheel is a great touch. But in the time I've owned it, durability and keeping it clean have been issues:- Two keycaps broke off - the plastic cross mount underneath each key is weak and easily cracks without much force applied. I had to get to get the first replaced by HyperX support - the second, I'm contacting them about now.- Over time, some keys stop responding, or repeat when pressed. This is probably a result of dirt under the keys, which gather easily due to the nature of the open design.- And talking of dirt, the keyboard attracts a lot of dust beneath the keys. Keys are easily removed, but it seems to get dirtier than any other keyboard I've owned, perhaps due to the nature of the keys being raised.

MX cherry Brown best of both worlds!
Been using it more than 6 years and no issues at all! It's great, sturdy, metal frame, robust keys. Would recommend 10/10. But I heard analog keyboards are getting popular these days so maybe I'll buy those in future in price drops

Durable, portable, and discrete - one of the best mech-keyboards on the market
12/05/2019 Update: Unfortunately, I no longer use this keyboard as my work keyboard since I was able to put together a more compact one. However, I would still recommend this keyboard due to how portable it is considering its full 104-key layout.About half a year of owning this keyboard, it is perhaps one of the best keyboards that you can acquire in terms of durability, portability, and discreteness.I really love using the Outemu switches (about the same as an Cherry MX Blue) on my previous mechanical keyboard. However, since I work an office environment, the "clicky" sound from the strong tactile feedback is not exactly favorable from surrounding colleagues - especially when there are phone calls or discussions among co-workers. I then opted for a less "clicky" switch that still has that tactile feedback. I chose the Brown switches because it's a nice mix between gaming and typing (also because the 104-key option with Red switches wasn't in-stock at the time). The frame of the keyboard is forged from solid steel, giving it strong durability. I often carry this keyboard with me to work in my backpack, and while not a perfect fit, there's no deformation and stays perfectly level on my desk. Because of the solid steel frame, it's definitely heavier than plastic, rubber-dome keyboards or even some tenkeyless or 60% mechanical keyboards. The keyboard also comes with a detachable and braided Mini USB cable. The cable splits into two male USB connectors - the keyboard has a USB pass-through port that can be used to charge various devices, such as wireless mice or your phone. Since I use a rechargeable wireless mouse for work, I like to charge the mouse through the keyboard so I won't have to look for a port on my computer. It's extremely convenient and allows for quick and easy access. Unfortunately, you can only use the USB pass-through port for charging; you won't be able to use it to connect a mouse or transfer data. In addition, if you also use a third-party cable, the USB pass-through port won't work since it requires a second cable.Because of the portability of the keyboard, its design is subtle and minimalist. The style of the frame is open-switch, meaning that the bottoms of the switches are exposed. This is great in the case that you accidentally spill liquids on your keyboard since they'll simply roll off the keyboard (that is, if they don't spill into the switches themselves). Additionally, because of the open-switch design, it's much easier to clean the keyboard of any dust between the switches. It also comes with a HyperX branded sleeve that you can store your keyboard and cable in.Other features of the keyboard include a Game Mode (Fn + F12) where it disables the Windows key while gaming to prevent the accidental opening of the Start Menu. Some of the function keys are programming for media, such as volume adjustment, LED pattern and brightness, and playback keys. The LED patterns include solid, fading in and out, glowing keys are you type, pulsating waves on each key hit, left-to-right wave pattern, and a custom LED layout of your choosing. While it has many good features, it's not THE perfect keyboard. The key fonts aren't exactly flashy - just more or less simple, bolded letters. The stabilizers are Costar types which make it difficult to install o-ring dampeners or swap key caps, especially for the longer keys (Space bar, Shift, Enter, etc). The Game Mode, NumLock, and Caps Lock light indicators are blocked off by the top row of the number pad, making it difficult to see whether any of the three keys have been enabled or not. The keyboard is a very simple design - no ergonomics to accommodate for carpal syndrome. It doesn't come with a wrist rest either. The mini USB port on the keyboard is shaped so that it is only usable for the cable that came with the keyboard - you can try other various mini USB cables that have a small-shaped mini USB male connector, but I won't guarantee that it'll fit all mini USB male connectors. The keyboard LEDs are also only available in red as opposed to the Alloy Elite where it has both red and RGB options.Overall, the Alloy FPS is one of the better quality keyboards out there. It's a great keyboard for FPS players as well as for typists. If I were to describe this keyboard, it's strong but light and subtle but sleek.
