It does not work in or outdoors at anytime. Nothing even if the dogs are within 6feet of the unit with NO obstructions. Not worth the money.

I live in an apartment and my dog's barking was starting to cause problems between my neighbors and me. I was worried that I would get in trouble with my apartment management if I couldn't get his barking under control. This device works very well to deter his barking. As soon as he hears it, he stops barking. It is a little more sensitive than I thought it would be, and things like a door closing somewhat loudly can trigger the device to emit the ultrasonic sound. Because of that, I only turn the device on when my dog is barking rather than just leaving the device on all the time, because I want him to associate the sound only specifically with barking for better negative reinforcement. Again, the device works very effectively, and my relationship with my neighbors has improved a lot since I've started using it.

I was very hopeful when purchasing this but became EXTREMELY disappointed. Spare your animals and do NOT buy. This thing went off all the time with any type of noise and randomly. My 105# dog was horrified to the point she didn’t want to go downstairs. I would know when it was going off by her reaction. I wish I would’ve listened to the other reviewers stating all the things I just did and more. I had to try it though. I’m sorry I did. I feel so sorry for my 2 dogs and cats.

It works. Put an expensive top brand battery in it and it was dead within 4 days. My dog only likes to bark at 2am so I thought I’d try this. He stopped barking after the 2nd-3rd bark once he caught on that he wasn’t going to like the sound. However, every little thing sets this device off. The wind, a child’s cough, bird chirp. So because of the extra sensitivity, it’s burning through batteries, at $6 each, is it worth it every few days? I got this to have respect for the neighbors that like to sleep with their windows open, but definitely disappointed. I think a rechargeable bark collar may be the way to go where it’s my dog. Might be worth a try for neighbors dogs, but still the sensitivity and batteries would still be an issue.

I'm a natural skeptic, but I read the reviews and decided to give this device a try. Glad I did! Worked practically immediately for my 3 year old dog that had gotten in the habit of barking when she wanted to play or just to "announce" to the world that she was going to the back yard. I care for other dogs sometimes and had a couple recently that just would NOT stop barking. Remembered I had this. Turned it on low, and when they heard my hubby walk in, they barked - TWICE! Then immediate silence. Ahhhhh. So humane and so easy! Highly recommend.

Much smaller in size than it appears, but good things come in small packages! Easy to set-up for either free standing or flat surface mount application. This device works great! Tested it first thing early this morning when the neighbors dog's started their usual all day, annoying, incessant barking at every fly that goes by. Placed the device in the corner of the yard on top of the block wall separating our yards. After about 30 minutes of usual barking, the intensity and frequency of the barking lessened as they quickly learned to stop barking completely if they want to stay in the yard without being "zapped". I may get another one to take with me on my usual walks around the park to tame the other annoying barkers that greet me through the open, wrought iron fencing which lines the perimeter of the walk. Can't wait to try it on those neurotic canines too!Revised edit 4-4-2023:After using this device for almost 3 weeks it is apparent that the cost of the 9V batteries which must be replaced weekly, will soon exceed the cost of the device. Although the device does perform well up to the 50 feet stated, it is simply not cost effective to use. I would not purchase this device and will return it to the manufacturer (authorized through Amazon) who has avoided answering my repeated e-mails.

Got this for the neighbor's yappy GSD. Does nothing except eat batteries. Put in brand new (purchased at the same time exclusively for this product) battery… checked it a week later and no lights at all. Put in a new battery… a week later it's dead. Dog barks incessantly even 5-10 feet away on the other side of the fence and device on highest setting.

Put a couple tiny screws up high on the side of my shed to mount it pointed at my neighbor's yard and their 200+ pound barker. I have two small dogs and they don't seem to notice the sound, maybe just because of the positioning, it's blocked from facing our yard. The barking has subsided a lot, and I hope the barker continues to learn to bark less.My only critique would be to include two screws that fit, because I had to look in every drawer, toolbox, and compartment I had to find two screws small enough.
