The Last Hours: Chain of Thorns

Perfect!
This review is about the condition of the book and not about it's content. This is the last book in the Last Hours Trilogy by Cassandra Clare.. the first two books were really great! So hope this one is equally great too. There were very little damages in the book. That could have been taken more care of. The edges of the hardcover were badly dented but the book itself and the dust jacket were in perfect condition. Absolutely in love with the cover with Grace Blackthorn on it and I know it's going to break my heart.

Awesome novel by Cassandra Clare
Really happy my book arrived early. It came in good condition. Packing was good. Only little disappointed with the quality of pages. Papers are little thin. Overall happy with my purchase. I am a huge fan of Cassandra Clare's novels. I have Read all books by her in Shadowhunter series. ♥️

I can't believe i waited 2 years for this..
So chain of thorns.. Where do we start; I really wanted to love this book so badly, but Cassie did us dirty on this one. Let me explain, you do not simply KILL one of the merry thieves and then not even allow his friends and family to mourn him properly. Like the only person who seemed to be affected by Christopher's death was anna; the rest just moved on like nothing had happened. Christopher deserved better. Also we wasted soo much time in the unnecessary love triangle between cordelia, james and matthew. I think Cassie was trying to do something similar to what she had done with TID but it simply did not work here. Also i found this book to be a little bit too long and it got so slow paced in some bits i had to force myself to pick up the book again.I was not satisfied with the ending at ALL! It was so underwhelming and predictable I was expecting a bittersweet ,heart wrenching ending that would make me cry my eyes out but it never came..I've only rated this three stars because I am too deeply attached to these characters to give it anything less but I really am quite disappointed with this one especially after waiting for 2 whole freaking years for it.

Love and faith can do anything
A well narrated love story with little bit of super natural powers here and there. The end was predictable. A good complete story ended very well

Strictly average!
Not one of the finer works on Cassandra Clare. And not a worthy ending to this story. 3 stars for this mediocre finale. 1st and 2nd instalments were far better.

A Disappointment Of Massive Proportions
In as few words as possible, the book came as a disappointment after a year long wait. 600 pages were taken up by pointless drama and the book has more plot holes than Swiss cheese. The book feels like when you’ve written an essay and exceeded the word limit and haphazardly edit to shorten it. The main characters were vacuous and character deaths were meaningless and irrelevant to the plot.Cassandra Clare is losing her touch and needs to take a break the TSC universe.

Excellent quality!
The media could not be loaded. The book cover is vibrant and good quality, the words are clear on the pages! It is a great book. One of my favourite series! As you can see I am not quite done this one but I will be in no time. 10/10 would recommend this series to anyone who likes fantasy and supernatural genres!

Clare is BACK!!!
Cassandra Clare is back in force with The Last Hours. After a disappointing Dark Artifices, she more than made up for it with this series. I loved everything about it: the characters (Cordelia, James, OMG Matthew, Alastair and Thomas, Lucie and Jesse, Anna and Ari, and even Grace) both good and evil and those in between were well developed and awesome, the sarcastic bite and funny banter we got used to in Mortal Instruments is back, and the writing is fabulous as usual. One of the things that didn't work for me in The Dark Artifices series was the chaos of characters. There were so many and they were so obviously there to check an item in the diversity list that it just didn't work for me. It just didn't flow naturally. Things have changed with this series. Still a lot of characters and POVs as per Clare's usual but very well managed and the diversity card is seamlessly and masterfully incorporated in the story, giving it a very natural flow.Congrats Ms, Clare, you've done it again. Love it and highly recommend it for fantasy and romantasy lovers YA and adult.P.S. - that bonus scene at the end was awesome.

mixed feelings
So of course this book is more fun to read and makes more sense when you’ve read the other shadowhunter books. You’ll understand all the cameo’s and references. You should especially read the infernal devives since the main characters in that trilogy are the parents of the main characters in this trilogy. I wish it wasn’t so long ago since I’ve read chain of gold and chain of iron. I definitely needed to look things up in the wiki from time to time. I enjoyed reading this book, getting to know the cast even better is mostly what makes it enjoyable. It doesn’t feel like a finale though. The ending is very open with a lot of loose ends. You’re left with a lot of questions instead of answers. And without a definitive and reliable family tree for any of the families. This feels like a setup for a next book instead of wrapping everything up and having the epilogue feeling like everyone’s happy ending like in a fairytale. You can’t help rooting for all of the couples: James and Cordelia, Ari and Anna, Thomas and Alastair. So yes, even after sort of another unsatisfying cliffhanger of an ending you’ll still be wanting more shadowhunter books. Just like a lot of people I’ll be patiently waiting for the wicked powers. Or a sequel to this could also work and fill in the gaps.
