LONG HAIR type doesn't make a difference
I've fed my cats Iams Hairball in the orange bag for years. It's sold out a lot now, I'm not sure if this one is going to take its place. Just because it says Long Hair doesn't mean you can't feed all your cats this. I have a shorthaired cat that has more hairballs than my long-haired Maine Coon. Both my cats like this food, but they always seem hungry and I don't think this has enough calories. So I'm researching new foods. It also doesn't help much in the way of hairballs, they still have them.Update: I am switching. The last few bags of the Long Hair type have been crumbled into tiny bits, even the last 1/4 of the bag is nothing but powder.

Only thing that doesn't break my cat out
I have an elderly cat, a long haired tuxedo. He's always been sensitive to dyes and fillers among other things. I had been feeding him something else for YEARS when suddenly they must have changed the formula because suddenly he was breaking out in terrible dermatitis and sores all down his spine and all over his body, and dropping fluff so badly he was balding. This was the cheapest dye free, filler free, high protein food I could find. Both my cats have been eating this for a few months now. My old man has cleared up and some of his bald spots are finally starting to fill back in.

Mixed emotions
My cat really liked this food. It is smaller and she could get it in her mouth. I was amazed after only a few days of her eating this food, she vomited up enormous balls of fur. And at least once a week she would vomit up a large hairball. Of course it was gross to clean it up, but I kept thinking how full her stomach mustâve been with fur. That could not have been healthy for her. Itâs worth it to invest in just one bag to get a lot of hair out of your cats tummy.

Good 8 cats approve.
I buy so much dry cat food and I was looking for dry food that would help my older cat who is long haired. He has health problems and wants to eat mainly wet food. This food he really liked it and it alleviated me from having to keep feeding with the wet food. If I have to go out, I know he has this handy and he is getting more mobile and looking healthier. The other 7 cats also liked it. I am happy because my cats love it.

DIARRHEA
I initially bought this food at Walmart and once again off Amazon. It gave my cat liquid diarrhea for months. We competed 14 days of deworming, started on high end probiotics, switched to wet food, and even completed a 5 day course of antibiotics to ensure it wasnât parasitic. After 5 days on antibiotics/probiotics and a random array of wet food (no specific brand or product), her stool finally normalized. The vet recommended switching off this food. But because we werenât quite sure what intervention normalized her stools, we went back on this food and continued probiotics just to see (the vet agreed that we could try this and it would be very telling.) Instant diarrhea again. We once again came off Iams and bought the recommended rx diet. Stools are normalizing after 3 days on new food. Very declarative that it was in fact the Iams causing diarrhea.Iâve submitted the exact complaint to Iams support website
