Ancient Egypt: Tales of Gods and Pharaohs

Bought for our children who were doing homework on Egypt at school. Good fun and helped them enjoy the process more. We love these books and the author

My class read two of the stories and wrote reviews. Here are a few of their comments:Horus the Avenger:I especially liked the murder because it made it very exciting... It's good to see this kid's introduction to Egyptian myths - there are many kid's versions of Greek and other myths, but not ancient Egyptian mythology. Williams' illustrations and cartoon strip approach are, as always, accessible and engaging. But her foray into Egyptian history is less successful - the last chapter, on Cleopatra, is highly misleading and misogynistic. Hopefully she will update it in future editions. Meanwhile, best to skip it.

Love the comic strip style way of describing the Ancient Egyptian myths. There aren't many children's story or picture books on Ancient Egyptians. Stories are easy to read and illustrations so good. Can't wait to use this book with my year 5 class next term.

Beautifully illustrated, perfect for children and teens as an introduction to Egyptian Myths.

My pupils love these books by Marcia Williams. They are a very exciting way of reading about history for kids. I have bought others in the series. I think they are great.

My son has a few of the Marcia Williams books. I like the way she makes ancient history, along with other topics, into stories which are pithy and hold young attention spans (which are mostly pretty short!) and gets them interested in finding out more.

My 8 year old daughter loves Marcia Williams books, and loves reading about Ancient Egypt, so i was delighted to find this. It did not disappoint either of us - loads of colourful illustrations, fabulously detailed pictures, and lively story telling. An excellent purchase.
