I thought carefully about buying this... WHY? it's PINK FLOYD, should have just bought it.
A stunning hardback of about 320 pages. It's blummin' heavy. The opening 2 chapters are very flowery in the style. These could have been shortened but they vividly paint the landscape of Britain, her culture etc, as well as the Floyd.I WOULD SUGGEST THIS BOOK IS FOR DEDICATED FANS ONLY. And have Wikipedia at the ready for extra information. I had no idea what the reference to The Walrus and the Carpenter was about, amongst many others. I was a comprehensive school pupil, not grammar school.A collection of great... rare pictures of instruments, people, flyers and I love the way some of the rear LP covers have the writing removed to show the original picture. The covers take up most of 1 page, and thus are larger than a cd cover. Luckily for me, I have the vinyls.I will list the contributing writers:AUBREY POWELL has the foreword.JOE BOYD described the early records.ROB YOUNG guides us and them through the pastoral era.JON SAVAGE (critic and journalist) takes us on a magical mystery trip (oops, wrong band) of the Floyd from mid to late 1960s.HOWARD GOODALL (did you see his brilliant Sgt Pepper at 50 programme) enlightens us to how Pink Floyd have helped to change the world of music. (Howard, if you didn't know is a classical composer, a stalwart of "Classic FM" radio station and a musical historian).VICTORIA BROACKES and ANNA LANDRETH STRONG describes the stage sets, venus and architecture of the legendary shows.MARK BLAKE opens a saucerful of secrets of all of the studio albums (and Ummagumma's live LP gets a sentence. That does over simplify Mark's contribution. Mark wrote the great book about the history of Pink Floyd. The book is called "Pigs Might Fly". It has also recently been reprinted with the title, "COMFORTABLY NUMB".AUBREY gives 2 pages to the late Storm Thorgerson. This, for me, is the perfect end to the men and the journey that is Pink Floyd. The book is published by V&A to coincide with the V&A exhibition in London. I will not be able to visit the exhibition, but nevertheless this book is a joy to read and study the pictures. Written by people that know/knew the members and with Nick, Roger and David, the estates of Syd and Richard all rummaging through their bins for titbits, this is an authorised publication.(£40 publisher price)5 stars for quality of information, quality of the book, quality of pictures and the Amazon price.

Magnificent, beautifully crafted book
Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains is a stunning exhibition at the V+A Museum. A book can't do the experience justice, but this publication certainly comes close. The hardback is beautifully produced: heavy quality paper, lots of high quality photographs of material used in the exhibition, and plenty of informative, clear and objective articles to supplement the visual treats in the book. Howard Goodall's essay on understanding the craft behind Pink Floyd's music is absolutely superb, one of the best pieces of music writing I have read in a long time. Having come away from the exhibition thinking I didn't need a book as well, it was good to revise that decision and pick up a well-priced copy of the hardback from Amazon. Cheaper than buying it at the museum on the day. A superb book: recommended without reservation.

Brilliant book
The official V&A book of the mighty Floyd. This book is luxury personified for the price. It’s like diving into a toy box and pulling out something different every time. Brilliantly illustrated and has a 3D cover. If your a fan you need this book, if your a music fan of the period then you will enjoy it to.

Great product. Problem solved!
This was bought as a gift for someone who really liked it. Initially the seller sent me a German language edition which had mislabeled. I contacted the seller Speedyhen and they couldn't have been more helpful. They dealt with the issue efficiently and arranged a replacement item straight away. Not only is the book itself a great addition to any Pink Floyd fan's collection, I would also recommend buying from Speedyhen because their customer service is very good.

Excellent photos
A must for anyone that's grown up with Pink Floyd as part of their life soundtrack. A coffee table book, yes, but also a wonderful item of interest and regression therapy.

Great book, go to the exhibition at V&A if you can before Oct 2017
Great book, I'm a die hard Floydian and have boat loads of books and CD's but this one still fits nicely into the collection. The exhibition at the V&A museum to which this publication accompanies is fantastic and with interactive headphones narrating throughout the various rooms I managed to lose a very enjoyable 3 hours immersed in all things Floyd.... book your tickets if you have not yet gone, if you are unable to attend then this book will make a decent substitute for you to read
