Chicken Soup for the Soul: 101 Stories to Open the Heart and Rekindle the Spirit Paperback – May 1, 1993

This is indeed a great book. I have used it for many years for myself and in my high school classes. There are stories, poems and thoughts that do really touch the heart and uplift the spirit. I have reordered this many times as mine wears out. Sometimes I would start my class with something from the collection. However, the stories and poems are not just for teens, they are for adults and even younger children too.

I downloaded this book and read it just after my Dad died. It helped me through some pretty tuff stuff. All these books are great!

I have too much chicken soup, so much so that I was confusing this 1993 CSFTS book with the 2012 chicken soup "The Power of Positive". This is the better of the two and has a good idea and just enough seasoning to make it palatable. The stories have uplifting themes and the stories seem to all be true and inspirational. A few of them are written by the non-professionals (to whom the events happened) so are not all well-written or exciting. Enough of them, though, deliver a good punch and are well worth the read. It is a convenient package with short stories (2-3 pages) so you can set it aside and consume in small bites.

I recommend this to people who is not lovers and feel like they are not appreciated by others. if you lost your love or a friend like I am that is very far from you. There are millions of other who are far from their family. Money is the root of evil but it turn to money is the root for love by sharing blessings of what we have. Eating day by day, night by night. It can be used for Marriage changing your last name. Saving someones life or it can be yours. I am treated at the hospital 4 times but I still feel love by others my father who was really far from me. He is not alone he still see people in this Earth. Mother nature was part of the Earth since we lived on Earth we should take care also for them like birds who go on trees. I am almost at 100 page of the book Part 3. Mark Victor Hansen was a partner of Jack Canfield by several books. He also has a sermon by the one who has terminal leukemia her last wish was to attend at her sermon and to graduate a degree in high school. That is the only part of the story I can share to you right now. This book was I been waiting for since 2012 including Alladin Factor I have it now and own it.

Some of the stories were really empowering and inspirational. However, the ones about achieving financial success and material goods really turned me off. I really wasn't expecting them in a "Chicken Soup for the..." series book.

This book is full of short, easily digestible motivational bed time stories.Every story is a “stand-alone”.One of my best stories was about Abraham Lincoln’s failures.Another story I really loved was the ‘Golden Buddha’. The message was that all of us have gold within us, our only task should be to discover it.This book inspired me to write Celebrating Quiet People: Uplifting Stories for Introverts and Highly Sensitive Persons.

Good book. Who doesn't enjoy a little chicken soup!?!?

lots of good short stories. Just right when I need help falling asleep, they are short and not complicated or suspenseful. The type of book to pick up and set down at anytime.

This is a great book to read and I am glad that I found it on Amazon, as a big fan of the TV Show Friends, I see Chandler reading this exact same book and having been wondering for ages whether you could still buy this book and then came across a few different ones on Amazon but of course I had to get the exact same one that Chandler was reading. This book may help you through some tough times in your life. I love reading self help books etc, but this book is on another level.

Ho comprato questo libro per mia figlia, per praticare la lettura in lingua inglese. Lei si appassiona a queste storie vere che sono molto toccanti. Un libro che dovrebbero leggere tutti gli adolescenti, fa riflettere e sprona i ragazzi a uscire dalla superficialità che imperversa nella loro generazione, senza risultare noioso, anzi, il contrario. Lo consiglio a tutte le mamme.
