Silverline 665721 Gas Bottle Spanner 25 mm

Like a lot of other people, I found it doesn't fit our regulator. We actually wanted it for our Suregas CO2 regulator for dispensing drinks, and based on another comment saying it fit those bottles, I was swayed and purchased it. But it doesn't fit. Our regulator is 28mm upon measuring it.As its bad practice to grind or file spanners to make them bigger, its been thrown in the tool box.So my advise is dont be lazy, go and measure your regulator before you buy!Otherwise the product is good quality and delivery is prompt.

This spanner is causing lots of people annoyance, and it's easy to see why. I have 3 different designs of regulators: propane, butane and CO2. This doesn't fit any of them. So the description, both on the product's packaging and on this site, have a clear potential to mislead. Whist the 27mm size is clear. A reasonable person would infer, from the description, that this would fit the majority of gas bottle regulators.Given the numbers of people that are unhappy about this, and the fact that this doesn't fit many popular regulators, it seems very possible the vague description of the product is being left wilfully in order mislead customers, increasing sales. If this is happening, then it would be a criminal act of dishonesty on the part of the seller.

Good quality, but sadly I thought gas couplings were a standard size, but this spanner is too small, so I have has to order one with 30mm rather than 27mm opening.

I would not normally bother to review a spanner but there seems to be some confusion over the type of gas this spanner is used for especially as the advertisement just says gas spanner, the cheap price for the quality of the spanner is very good but as many buyers have found out it is not a calor gas spanner it is for C02 gas bottles.i ordered six of these spanners for my place of work as they fit the C02 bottles that are linked up to the fizzy drinks dispensers that you see in your local restaurants and pubs and possibly welding torches as well. if you need a calor gas spanner try this one  Propane Gas Bottle Spanner Heavy Duty

Doesn’t fit the gas connection it’s recommended for

Too small for Silverline 196559 Gas Regulator 0.5 - 4bar I bought it for. Can only guess its for a different fitting. That said its a good value spanner so I kept it.

Couldn't fault the price or the timescale for delivery. Unfortunately too small to fit our valve but have made an adjustment and it fits now
