Why didn't I buy one sooner! No More Lumps!
Peel, Chop, Boil, Strain, Rice (mix in butter/milk/cream/cheese etc.)... EAT!This thing is amazing!! I've been looking at Potato Ricers for years and decided to buy the OXO brand as already own some of their items and they are usually very good quality! And I've not been disappointed with this item!! Yes it takes a little time to do multiple spoon's of potatoes and ricing them in turn back in to a bowl/pan, but it's well worth the extra time for the super smooth result you get and not a lump in sight! Would recommend to anyone who likes super smooth mash! I thought they would be cold by the time you've done them but they are not! It's not a small item so probably won't fit in your knife and fork drawer but ours sits by the pans in the drawer below no problem. Been used so many times over so many months and it's still in 'like new' condition, fairly easy to wash and dry and super easy to use! 10*'s (not 5!)

Good strong potato masher
This is the best potato masher I have ever used, no bending during use, the handle is simply superb, it's easy to grip and I would imagine anyone suffering with a muscle or arthritic problem in their hands would also find it very comfortable to use!A well thought out design from the use perspective and made from a good quality stainless steel, this item will last many years!

It is very strong
I cant see how other people managed to break theirs. The pin in the handle is really strong. I suppose they all got refunds. If mine does go its an easy thing to just replace with a thin bolt.Anyway I've found this amazing in getting consentient mash and really fast. The metal is really thick and feels high quality. Very easy to clean as long as you get it under water straight off to avoid the potato starch from drying.Love OXO brand.

Comfortable and strong!
I used this masher for the first time for our Sunday dinner mash potatoes and I must say it feels strong and the way it’s made it mashed the potatoes really good. My old metal masher was killing my hand and didn’t have good grip so this masher is a dream to use and is very comfortable to hold. Because of the design of this potatoe masher the potatoes don’t seem to get stuck inside the same as the metal ones. I like the fact it’s dishwasher safe too. The only thing I would say is it’s a bit pricey (I paid full price) but I suppose you get what you pay for!

A brilliant masher!
This has one job to do, and it does it incredibly well. Using my little 'old faithful' masher for batch cooking was hard going and time-consuming, so I treated myself to this one. I'm already a happy Good Grips customer, and this is a Which? Best Buy, too. It made short work of a large pan of boiled swede, did an equally good job of the Maris Pipers, then combined them perfectly. It's like a large-scale ricer and gives a very smooth and/or fluffy result (depending on how floury the spuds are). It's also quick – in fact, go steady if you like your mash a little rough and rustic, and make sure the pan you're mashing in is suitably large, as the 'worms' of squished potato that come through the holes can do so with such force they may fly out! It's great quality, good and solid, and the horizontal handle is a good design – easier than a vertical grip for holding on tight and pushing down, and comfortable, too. Highly recommended.

Game changer
Absolutely amazing thing thats revolutionary. After years of struggling with horrible cheap potato mashers, forks etc and having lumps I decided to go for a potato ricer to help my sore tired arms and hands. I did a little research and found this one. Its very pricey but I think It will last for a long time due to it being good quality. It takes all the work out and does the Job in seconds, Zero lumps perfect for me. There is just a slight sensory issue that won't make sense to most and I don't know if anyone else will have this problem but I don't like the noise when you pull up the lever to get the potato's in, it's like a scrapy metal sound that hurts my teeth. Its worth it though. If you are thinking about buying this just do it, your life will be easier

Get a grip
This potato masher is quite nice for several reasons.First, the manufacturing seems top notch. It's quite sturdy and doesn't seem as though it will be easy to bend without using much more force than is necessary for mashing potatoes.Second, the design is quite nice. The horizontal handle provides a more natural method of holding the utensil. This makes it much easier to use than standard vertical handled mashers. The holes seem to be appropriately spaced and the right size as well. It looks very similar to coarsely ricing the potatoes when they "squeeze" through the holes.Third, I wash it in the top rack of my dishwasher which means washing is easy. I haven't noticed any discoloration yet, but it is possible with time the handle will fade. Not something I'm worried about though. The only drawback to a horizontal masher is storage. A vertical masher is easier to put in a drawer or utensil holder. This is a very minor drawback though and obvious when looking at the masher. I wouldn't recommend getting a folding horizontal masher instead of this one though. That would just introduce an additional fail point.

It works like it's supposed to
I honestly don't understand why I see people saying that it's hard to clean it and that potatoes stick to it easily. That's simply not the case. I just used it for the first time tonight, expecting to have the same issues, but I had no issues of the sort. It's no more hard to clean than the average potato masher, and it does the job much faster and thoroughly than my old masher as well. It didn't scratch up my nonstick pot either, so I'm completely satisfied.

Comfortable handle; seems good and sturdy, dishwasher safe
This is a very good, sturdy potato press. The handles are comfortable to hold, the holes are small enough to break up chunks, and the plunger fits tightly. It can also be used to squeeze excess liquid from cooked greens and to purée soft foods like bananas, cooked pears, etc. It's a good size for a one- or two-person household.
