good buy
This was a present and I went on others' reviews. It has now been used and it's great! Very easy to use and to clean, it feels sturdy and made to last. The spaetzle were delicious. It comes with a recipe.

Works very well
This inexpensive device makes making spätzle very easy. I'd previously tried a colander and a Moulilegumes - the colander was a disaster and the Mouli worked, but was pretty messy. This is sturdy, easy to clean and works really well. It's not apparent from the photograph, but the funnel has a kind of internal lip which forces the batter through the holes evenly as you slide it. Very clever.

What a great little gadget
What a great little gadget! Makes great spaetzle with ease. The white square detaches which makes it super easy to clean and it doesn't take up too much room in the kitchen cupboard! A great investment for the kitchen. Very happy.

Great choice
Ooh, they came out lovely first time! Took a few weeks to arrive but I was too mean to pay any p and p so that was my choice. Great quality product and came out fine from dishwasher.

Great gadget but has some flaws
the package came with a recipe. i had picked out another one but thought I'd use it to see. It was interesting because it used much more liquid than one from the internet but I'm glad I used it because even this one was stiffer than i remember making the past. but it has been a while. So based on this recipe and what I've come to understand how stiff the batter should be.1. there is a nice little hook at the bottom of the maker to put on the edge of a pot. I wish there was a hook on both ends because it really causes you to pull the pot constantly push the pot away in one direction so your force while sliding the basket back and forth is uneven2. i wish the basket was some how removeable by depressing a latch or something. I had to get in the nooks along the slider to get the batter out with a chopstick and butter knife. Whoever rated this, 'easy to clean' is out of their minds.3. I wish, and this is genuinely a wish and not something I'd expect like the second hook. i wish, that there were little legs or something to easily place it somewhere as you lift it away and rest it somewhere for reloading. I sat it back on top of the batter bowl, which was fine but then I kept having to lift it to scoop. Also i felt like I needed three hands as you wanted to refill because there'd still be noodles hanging underneath which I had to swipe away. anyway like I said the legs are just a wish.I recommend anyone using this to do warm ups because with a sticky dough, it was like using a rowing machine on high resistance. Since it's just a side dish, I would stick to using a 2 egg recipe. 2 eggs, 2 cups flour 2/3 c Milk. You'll be exhausted after the 3 egg batter which you have to do in at least 4 batches before your water is full of cooked noodles. The batter might not look it but it will cook up. the 3 egg recipe on the packet made like 2 litres (gallons) worth of cooked noodles. Easily serving 8 as a BIG side dish. The 3 rating is primarily for cleaning difficulty.

Handle comes off
My prior maker was German-bought and lasted 10 years. This one, lasted 4 uses before the handle came off. Last thing you want, is to be pushing the dough holder back and forth over boiling water and then the whole thing separates from the handle. Bad design. Bad construction.

Two Stars
Not easy to use. I would rather hand cut the noodles (spaetzle).
