I used it to support an old oak gatepost that had rotted below ground. It did the job. Might have been helpful to have some holes drilled in it, but it looked too thick for my drill to cope with. So I used straps. Possibly I should have bought a slightly longer bar, but this seems firm enough in the ground as the post only holds a hosepipe connector, so no heavy gate to swing.

Good enough product but very expensive for what it is. I have found a local supplier who cuts to length at a fraction of the cost
