Twilight the movie, an outsiders perspective
I had never read the Twilight books when I went to see the movie. I vaguely remember the hype of Breaking Dawn's release, but it didn't mean anything to me. I saw the queues for the opening of the film and it meant nothing to me, apart from about 3000 people in Dublin being stupid enough to queue for hours in the rain to see a film.I love vampires and werewolves though, so, at a loose end one weekend, I convinced my boyfriend that it wasnt a horror, and there was nothing else to do. we laughed for about the first hour. it was very funny. But by the middle of the tree top scene I was hooked. we both were.I rushed home and ordered all four books that night. I read the series straight through twice, and dragged my mom to see the film with me. (I'm in my mid 20's, she's considerably older....)I sat, completely unmoving the whole way through the move. it was like I was greeting old friends. once I knew the story, all of the humour went out of the film, and it became totally engrossing. my mom thought so too.lots of little things were changed, obviously. the book is better. obviously. I didnt like Stewert (?) as Bella. she played her as too self assured, too graceful. it wasnt Bella for me. But Pattinson brought Edward to life in a way that was so different. I actually liked him more after seeing the film that in the books.Kellan Lutz is missing the dimples and curls but hes still the same adorable, deep as a puddle Emmet we all love.the film is more of a companion to the book, it makes the scenery solid. I thought that was actually a plus of the movie, I knew what the characters looked like, I was a little fuzzy on what their neighbourhood was like. the film filled that in. when midnight Sun is published the three will stand together to give a 360 view of Bella and the Cullens world.WIll I buy the DVD? yes. WIll I watch it a million times, of course. but I'll read the books one million and one ;)

Very good story
This is the story of Bella Swan. She used to live in Phoenix with her mum and her stepfather, but decided to move in a small town in Washington called Forks to try to live with her father for a bit.Bella, 17, feels different from the other students, and this is noticeable even by just looking at her features: Extremely pale and beautiful in a different way than other girls. At her school, a family called the Cullens are different. They are all extremely pale and beautiful. They are adopted by the beautiful blond doctor in town and his wife. The family consists of Dr.Carlisle Cullen and Esme, Rosalie and Emmett, Jasper and Alice, and finally the mysterious Edward.Bella and Edward are attracted to each other straight away. The film is very nice, but I have to say that the 4 books from Stephanie Meyer are amazing.Bella senses that Edward is different from her, because of his eye colour changing to gold and black, his speed and strength. She then researches and learns that he is a vampire, as well as his family. He warns her to stay away from him, but they can't. Edward and his family are different than others because they don't feed on human blood, but hunt animals instead. They don't want to be "monsters". However, there are other vampires who are just killers, or more precisely: "trackers". Edward and Alice have a power. He can read people thoughts (except Bella's), and Alice has visions of the future. They can go out during the day, but prefer bad weather, because when it's sunny their skin glows like diamonds and everyone would notice that they don't look natural, hence not human.Bella is not scared because she knows that Edward would never hurt her as well as his family. For Edward it's hard to be too close to Bella, such as kissing her for example, because she's like "his own personal brand of heroin" as he says. It's hard for him, because he would like to drink her blood, but at the same time he loves her. At the end of the film, Bella is still with Edward and would like to be an immortal as well so that they could be 17 and together forever. He asks her if one lifetime is not enough for her, and she replies that for the moment she can live with that. The film explores sexual tension for teenagers very well. It's also a very modern film about friendly vampires as we haven't seen since a long time. Maybe a bit in "Interview with a vampire", or in Buffy, but it's still very different.I recommend it, but if you can, read the 4 books first even if they seem huge, they are amazing and you will read them very quickly as they are extremely entertaining.

Twilight - not just for teens
I am a couple of decades past my teens (being somewhere in the early30's). But I have always enjoyed the softer vampire and occult flicks such as 'Lost Boys', 'After Dark', 'Underworld', 'The Craft' and 'The Convenant' and I was not dispointed by Twilight at all.Yes it is set in a high school, and all the teenage girls who watch it are bound to fall for Robert Pattinson, but other than that there is not a lot else to make this an exclusive 'teenage' film, unlike - dare I say it 'High School Musical'. And I feel anyone who has painted it in that light has done it a massive dis-service, potentially putting would-be cinema goers off.The Directors searched long and hard for a couple with on-screen chemistry and they were more than successful. Pattinson as a young brooding vampire sends shivers down your spine and Stewart is so responsive to this it it was breathtaking and enthralling to watch.I loved the fact Edward (Pattinson) is from a "vegetarian" vampire family, who are eager to see him happy with his human love and enjoy doing normal family things together like playing baseball. While poor Bella (Stewart) is missing her mother and working hard on her relationship with her father who clearly loves her but has a problem expressing himself. The story is quite predictable, but that gives me a sense of comfort which I crave in films as I hate that anxious feeling that bubbles away. And strangely for a vampire film there is no gore, (just a bad wound) but when I remind myself that this is also a love story I wonder if it would have added anything anyway. The ending came all too soon for me and as with all good movies left me wanting more, which I will have eventually when 'New Moon' is released in 2010. And when Twilight is released on DVD (please be soon) it will definatly be an addition to my collection.

E ainda vêm extras tanto no disco 4K quanto no Blu-Ray. Se você é fã da saga, essa é a melhor maneira de assistir ao filme e você só vai encontrar nessa edição, então se você curte o filme definitivamente valhe super a pena.
