As a former professional cook (please don't call me "chef") I've used many different cutting boards constructed of a variety of materials. Teak not only looks awesome, but its hardness is also tailor-made to handle my quiver of sharp knives, all while being resistant to degradation (hence your fine patio furniture being made from teak as well.) The 14x18 is the perfect size for my needs, big enough to accommodate a ribeye roast, yet small enough to fit in a drawer when I need the extra counter space. Factor in the juice channel on one side and the recessed "handles" on each end and it has everything one could ask for without being unwieldy. Moreover, I discovered the quality of the product is equaled by the extraordinary professionalism, customer service and commitment to their craft demonstrated by the owners of the company. When I encountered a minor issue with the cutting board, I reached out to them and received a very prompt and courteous reply in which they stood by their product and reputation 100%. Simply put, it's great stuff by great people. (Boom, mic drop!)

A well constructed and beautifully finish board. This is huge upgrade from the plastic and bamboo cutting boards that I’ve been using. The larger size and hefty weight of this teak board means no more shifting around as I’m using it. I added some adhesive-backed silicon feet that I bought elsewhere to the board to prevent moisture getting to the underside. This is an excellent board at a very nice holiday price.

Be prepared to be wowed!!! And get ready to throw away all of your other cutting boards. I had several ok cutting boards but I wanted to declutter and get one really nice one that I could leave out on my counter, so I was looking for a nice looking one and boy did I get one. This one is beautiful and talk about substantial!!! It’s super thick, double sided and has inset handles. I have no doubt I will have this for a long time. I loved it so much I bought a second one for my bff for her birthday!! Buy one, you won’t be disappointed!!

I’m not some cutting board aficionado, just wanted something for my wife to replace our plastic one.This thing is a great size, very sturdy, and looks really great.The wood is very hard which I guess can be hard on knives but guess what? Sharpen your knives loser.10/10 would buy again and if I buy another cutting board I’ll buy one from Sonder.

Beautifully crafted edge grain teak cutting board by Sonder Los Angeles exceeded my expectations. I can see that it was constructed with care, by an artisan. The 18” x 14” x 1.25” size is perfect for my needs. I was doubly impressed by the packaging. It was another sign that this company takes pride in what they are creating.
