It's a red frame with black spots on it. It's not Distressed and looks really cheap because, it is. It would be OK for a children's room, maybe. Gave it a 2 because it was packaged really well and they accepted the return with no problems.

The picture they advertise is not the item you receive. I had purchased a porthole mirror from a local store a year ago, but they only had one, but always wanted more of them. I found this listing and the picture was identical to who I had so I bought three more. I was so disappointed when the box arrived. The mirrors sent were 1) far thinner 2) didn’t have the rivets, and 3) the screws eyes were minuscule. And to top it off the black paint they used to paint the metal screw eyes immediately started wiping off onto my hands. Totally inferior knock off to what was advertised. I’ve added a picture to show what I had already owned (left), what they advertised (center), and what i received (right). Wouldn’t have had a major problem with them had I already not had one I was trying to match.

We purchased this for our boat. Being wood, I didn't expect it to look as realistic as it does. Unless you get up close and touch it, you would never guess it's not an iron relic from an old ship. It's heavy weight, so keep that in mind when hanging it. It's a nice change from the usual brass porthole mirrors - a little more casual, but perfect for the look we wanted. We highly recommend it!

I bought 5 of these to hang in my son's room and they made all the difference. I love them. They are sturdy, and a nice color of red. They are very present. I don't need to really hang anything else. These make a real statement! Posted pictures of before and after.
