Eve Dallas is my hero
A great story, well told and compelling. Read it all the way through on a 12-hour road trip. Great references to origin stories for both Eve and Roarke.

Children in peril.
Eve, Roarke and quite an interesting cast of supporting characters are involved in an intense murder investigation that reveals evil, perversion, brutality, greed and death. This powerful book #55 in this series is heart wrenching and is about justice and responsibility.

JD ROBB STRIKES AGAIN!
Another in a great series, but it will stand alone as well.

One of the Best!
I’ve read all of the JD Robb books so far. While the stories are innovative, the formula for resolution is the same in every one. That doesn’t matter in this book. The take-down of the bad guys is so cleverly devised and the story itself is so creative, this is one of the best in the series. It was so compelling, I ran through it too quickly. Normally I like to savor them a bit.

Abduction, slaves, murder

Mina is found the next morning with a pointed wooden plank in her chest, no sign of Dorian. Eve catches the case, something is wrong with the scene, it's like it was set up. There's no blood under Mina so she wasn't killed where her body was found, her pants are too short, she's been staged in the scene. They search for missing girls and find her (Mina). Eve notices a number of missing girls same age group and area. Eve has Peabody start a search for more girls using na as the template. Muito bom
Gostei muito. Eletrizante. Mas tenho sentido falta das interações com os amigos de Eve. Os momentos familia.Mas, recomendo. Nora se mantém no seu estilo de sucesso.

When desperation is your only choice
Another well written story by J.D. RobbShe knows how to take real world experiences and intersect them into a story that delves into one person’s desperation to escape a situation that they were thrust into without choice. We watch as Eve battles her own thoughts, feelings and emotions as it runs parallel to her own trauma, and the tumultuous upbringing she endured. There are times when she questions herself and her objectivity, but she knows that she is doing it not only for herself, but getting justice for the victims too, with Roarke and Dr. Mira by her side, she knows she has the strength and determination to see it through, even when she admits that she is wrong, she is only human. The one highlight for me was Mavis going on the defensive, she won’t tolerate people speaking down to her friends, and Mama Mavis is only too happy to put them back in there place. No one gets between Mama Mavis and her family. But the most poignant moment was when Eve sympathised with a victim, sharing with them that she too understood what she had been through, but moreso when Summerset shared with Eve his personal pain at the loss of his daughter in similar circumstances, that he too understood the mentality of what she went through as a child, but what she, as a cop, in line with her moral beliefs, wade through the treacherous indulgences of those that believe they have a right to inflict heinous acts against those so innocent, that as a survivor, Summerset held Eve to a high opinion that if she were there at the time his daughter was taken, she would have made a world of difference.Murder, madness and mayhem is always a foot, the twists and turns will keep you on edge, the story very fast pacedWe got to see a myriad of characters return, and without inestimable Peabody to help keep the balance, good solid police work, throw in those laugh out loud moments, and the romance between our favourite characters, in the end they always find there. Here’s to Encore in Death, book #56, bring on February 2023!
