Tidlo Wooden Firefighter Figures Set with Accessories

Great little set of firemen. We bought these to go with the Tidlo fire station, and they are obviously the perfect size for that. They are very similar to Budkin/Le Toy Van figures, with bendy arms and legs, and look to be a similar quality and size. Having said that, though we love them, we have had some problems with the Budkins figures previously (losing hats, horns etc) so I'm hoping these stand up to everyday play a little better since they are not exactly cheap - they do look and feel very solidly put together so fingers crossed. I was a little put out at first to see that of the four figures, three were three identical, blue-eyed white firemen, plus one black fireman. It did feel a little like Tidlo had thrown in a token ethnic minority (I'm hoping my kids are kinder to him than Hollywood); just a little more variety would have been nice - and horrors, maybe even a woman firefighter? Having since checked out the competition, no one seems to be doing a particularly great job offering variety with their figures though, so I guess we'll be doing a little home makeover or two.

These are lovely, well made perfect to go with the wooden fire engine .

With a 3yr old grandson I need toys to be sturdy and long lasting. We prefer wooden toys as they are hard wearing and can be passed down or gifted as pre loved toys and these certainly fit the bill.

Purchased theses as ‘extras’ to go in my sons fire station dolls house. Although the dolls are of great quality and come with cute little accessories I do think they were rather expensive for what they are hence the 4 stars. However, I would recommend and my son does love playing with them.

Absolute must to go with the Fire Station. Makes for exciting role play for children along side the station. Grandson played with these fire-fighter figures for hours on end, placing them around the house and inside the station. Highly recommended. Now that he has grown have sold alongside the Fire Station to another grandmother whose grandson loves them too.
