Bought this as a prop for a fancy dress outfit. It served it's purpose for me but fell to pieces within a couple of hours, and most of that time it was just in my pocket.

Get what you pay for??
This is rubbish. I bought it for my husband for Christmas and was very disappointed.It comes wrapped up in bubble wrap so there is no box to be able to wrap up for a present - not a major problem but slightly irritating.The main problem is that we couldn't get it to work and there are no intructions. I thought it would have some sort of adjustment and focus but there is nothing. Everything you look at is just fuzzyI realise it wasn't expnsive but had expected more.

Man sollte kein professionelles Fernglas erwarten. Da kann man nichts groß einstellen. Scharfstellung erfolgt durch einschieben/rausziehen.

Its a toy
Don't expect to see across the oceans with this little fellow. It's got lenses. So, in theory, it can perform the stated function. However, focusing is cumbersome and irritating, the eyepiece is rather small and in general, frustrating to use. But if your young kid wants to feel like capt jack, you've got what you wanted. The design and finish matches what pirates on tv and the movies carry. So your kid will be thrilled to have it and happily stick it in his waist belt and play.
