Entertaining but not amazing
The book is fairly well written, covers a variety of interesting stories, some factual, some fiction, but it also contains inaccuracies here and there. Also, it quotes and references Betty Sodders' "Michigan Prehistory Mysteries" in the chapter about the stones found on Beaver Island. The problem is that the Sodders' book has to be hands down the worst book I read this year in terms of scholarship and seriousness of research. But this book is meant to be fun, not scholarly, and as such it gets the job done.

Interesting as I am from MI
The book was kind of slow do me. Did not hold a lot of detail and seemed like it was put together from bits and pieces of other books.
