## Description

Wiha 96706 torx screwdriver with precision handle, T6 x 40mm. Blade high alloy CVM steel. Single blister package.

Review: Wiha are simply the best hand tools you can buy. - I have several sets of Wiha screwdrivers and they will last a lifetime. I bought this one for a tiny screw that holds on the radio/ etc. knob covers on a 997.2 Porsche. I also use a larger set for those small screws on sunglasses and electronic items.
Review: Sometimes more expensive is less costly - I've been serious about working on knives for about two years now, and in the time I've d****d around with every cheap set of torx tools from Kershaw's to Lowe's brand to Husky, and even no-name Chinese junk. Everyone said Wiha was the best, but I just couldn't stomach the price of them, which was often double or triple the other cheaper ones I would buy. But it was a classic case of "pennywise, pound foolish": I stripped so many screws and the actual bits, both of which I then had to buy replacements for, that I'm sure I spent far more than I would have if I'd just bought the Wiha in the first place. No more. I finally broke down and bought this single torx driver for sixe T6 bolts, which are the most common size for knife pocket clip screws, and also, usually, the smallest--and easiest to damage--on a knife. I ALMOST can't believe the difference, but I understand what proper tempering does for steel, so really I'm not surprised that the head of this driver is so much more effective with the bolts. And it is--I haven't stripped a screw since I bought this driver, and I now own a full set of Wiha in the sizes needed to work on knives. The Wiha heads are so much more perfectly cut and seat into the bolts perfectly; their hardened steel tips are actually much harder than the bolts, and even the magnetism is the perfect strength to hold onto those tiny little T6 bolts, but not strong that it's inconvenient to try to extricate the tool from the bolt when one is ready to do so. Learn from me: sometimes the cheap-o, generic, off/store brand products are every bit as good as the name brand, but tools are NOT one of the products where that is the case. With tools, you get what you pay for, and you pay for what you don't get. I can't speak to any other work besides pocket knives, but I imagine it's about the same thing if one needs to open up a computer case to replace component hardware--delicate work that has a much lower chance of getting screwed up if one uses high-quality tools. So save yourself frustration, time, and money, and just buy the Wiha tools first so that they're the only ones you have to buy.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How well does this work for removing the motherboard screws on the Xbox One controller?**
A: I used it to change my MacBook Pro mid2010's HDD to SSD. For that it was great. I imagine it to work great with your Xbox controller.

**Q: Are there instructions for using this anywhere? I can't get it to fit in my Macbook Pro and don't notice any difference when pushing down on the red.**
A: I have never seen instructions for operating a torx driver. I always use it like a screw driver: insert and turn it. Maybe you have vandal resistant torx screws (with a protrusion in the middle of the area where the driver goes to keep a regular driver from working). They make torx drivers for vandal resistant screws too.

**Q: Is the tip strong enough to use to remove the screws from knife scales.**
A: Dear valued customer,The tools we offer are of the highest quality out there. I believe that this would work great for the screws in your knife scales. Wiha uses a very high quality tool steel which in turn means a very strong and durable product. We do also extend a lifetime warranty with our products so if the tip were to fail using it under normal circumstances you would be covered. Here is a quote from the brand "We produce Wiha products around the world under strict ISO quality standards. State of the art technology and special tool steels assure products consistent with our reputation for outstanding performance in demanding service, repair and production applications" I Hope this helps Thank you,

**Q: what's the difference between a T6 a 40mm and 60 mm screwdriver? I need the screwdriver to remove my pocket knife pocket clip.**
A: The only difference is the blade/shank length (metal portion sticking out of plastic handle). One is 40mm and the other is 60mm. The tip of each T6 screwdriver will be the same.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just Buy It Already
*by U***H on May 30, 2025*

I needed this screw driver to work on my Ring doorbell camera. It worked perfectly. It is surprisingly well built. A lot of things that I buy off of amazon, tool wise, see to be a little cheaper made, Not This! It is a very well built tool and I highly recommend that others buy this if you are looking at this or other size tools from this company.
