If you do that, as others point out, the jig will only reach about 3/4 of the way across the stone. My plan had been to 3D print an extension. I may still eventually 3D print something to lock it in place but my initial pass with it got the stone true enough. **Q: I have the wen 4270 grinder. will this dresser work on this particular setup?** A: No it will not. Tried it and the dressing tool only goes about 3/4 of the way across the stone before it maxes out.
