Colavita Special Aged Wine Vinegar, Red/White, 34 oz,17 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)

When my local Harris Teeter stopped carrying this product I knew I had to find it on line. I've tried an awful lot of bad red wine vinegars and felt like I'd hit the jackpot when I found Colavita. The taste, colour, clarity of the product are superlative. I won't buy anything else any more because I believe this is the best.

My rating is based on individual taste, palate and preference. We always use Colavita for it's quality, flavor, acidity, and non-GMO. It is not stringent and therefore excellent on salads and marinades, dipping sauces, etc. L'aceto di vino rosso Colavita è il migliore!

What a great price for two bottles of Italian vinegar, at the time of purchase, $11 for two. They came packaged like fine wine, in a sturdy egg-crate form-fitted crate; inside wrapped 2 times around with different thick wrappings. It is so nicely presented, I'd be proud to send it to someone as a gift! I also like that the expiration date is listed, this one is 2020, two years from now. Not that you'd think it would be necessary for vinegar to have an expiration date at all due to the fact it preserves anything you put in it. But it was just another thoughtful touch for the consumer; especially since food items I oftentimes buy that should have an expiration, do not show any. The taste is great for light vinaigrettes and pasta salads w/o mayo-based dressings. I use cheaper vinegars for canning, but when I want to gussy up a side dish with a little more respect, it pays to use a better quality ingredient. And at this price, there's no excuse not to.

I don't buy any other brand. I use lots of this vinegar. I found Colvita years ago at the grocery store but it's more difficult to find now so Amazon is always my go to source. Going to try the raspberry and red wine vinegars soon. Also use Colvita olive oil.

Been trying to find a good red wine vinegar and this seemed like a good brand name so I thought I'd try it. It is OK, "just" OK. It IS red wine vinegar but you can't say much else about it, so I won't.

Taste it straight for a very lovely vinegar flavor for salads, chicken dishes, fruit dips.
