ISU magazine is good unless they don't like one of the top world skaters.
I was very disappointed in their bias, as demonstrated by minimal coverage of Evgeni Plushenko and his 4th Olympic medal. The one good thing: I cancelled it after the Olympics and 6 months later, I'm still getting it for free!Evgeni Plushenko received very little or no coverage. In one article they sad his 4 Olympic medals were 2 gold, a silver and a bronze. wrong, 2 gold 2 silver, and I never saw a correction,. I told the magazine myself, but no correction was made. His career has set more records and there is a long list of the elements he was the first ever to do. The facts make him the best male skater ever. The only other male skater with 4 Olympic medals was 80 years ago, when all the jumps he had to were doubles. Evgeni has 4 Olympic medals, with very difficult quad jumps--the kind that create a lot of injuries.Plushenko was minimized to near the end of the magazine, even though he's regularly mentioned for his long career, full of all his record breaking achievementsAnyone reading this probably understands what I wrote.

Fantastic magazine!
This is a great magazine! I read every copy cover to cover. The content deals mainly with famous skaters. If you're a skater interested in skating technique, you won't really find that in this magazine. Figure skating is not as popular as it used to be in the U.S. (which is a shame), and there isn't a lot of TV coverage anymore, so this magazine really helps keep me in the loop. I hope they stay in business for a long time because I think Blades on Ice is now kaput. I would definitely recommend this magazine! Figure skating fans need to support the sport because it's out of favor in the U.S.! I want to keep this magazine going!

Great coverage of Figure Skating
For those interested in figure skaters from all countries, this is an excellent magazine. The magazine from US Figure Skating covers (obviously) only American skaters. This does an excellent job of covering all skaters. It is a bit pricey, but given that there is no other magazine that covers International figure skating, it is worth it.

Past, Present, and Future...Insightful
Although raised in sunny Cuba I learned how to skate in that country at age 6 and have been an avid figure skating fan ever since. I had the good fortune of meeting Sonja Henie, in Cuba, as a child when she skated there in 1952.It took me years to locate a magazine on figure skating, but finally located and subscribed to IFS. I have been a subscriber for over ten years.Although it went through a recent change in ownership, it only became better, offering the reader now a section on books, videos and television times which I have found very helpful. The articles are, indeed, international in scope and offer good coverage of current events as well as what has turned out to be very good glimpses of future stars. I read my issues cover to cover and that never changes. The interviews are well documented, and the graphics are beautifully laid out. I hope others can share in my enthusiasm for this fine publication.

It was ok
Bottom line, this magazine is for people who are up-to-date with big skating names and who are interested in their acheivements. It is full of pictures and interviews. My advice is this- if you trully are interested in the sport and the stars, subscribe. But if you're only interested in how to land your double axel, this magazine won't help too much.

THE magazine for figure skating fans
IFS gives the most up-to-date info on the sport's current and former champions as well as the up-and-comers. An excellent overview of the championship and professional circuit with stylish photos, this is THE magazine for fans.
