Not a super-hot, but close.
Normal Tabasco, as great as it is, is a casual sauce. It's a table sauce at Chipotle and whatever. This Scorpion Sauce is real. It won't kill you like Apollo or Reaper Squeezin's or a super-hot extract sauce, but you can't casually palm-squirt 30 bursts of this on to your burrito like the normal stuff, either. I give this five stars mostly for availability. For people who might want to dip their toes into the waters of super-hots, this is an acceptable and affordable jumping-off point, at least in my opinion. If super-hots are a swimming pool, I think this is a good diving-board. Flavor-wise, this is tabasco-ish. Smoke and vinegar, which is wonderful. But when you start getting into super-hots, there are so many pepper-mash flavors that you kinda start learning that smoke and vinegar are almost "gimmick flavors" that are perfect for some things, but not necessarily everything. For me, this sauce hits hard with anything that has sour cream and/or cilantro in it. Like for that flavor profile, it kills. But it really brings the heat.

A Decently Hot, Flavorful Tabasco. Definitely Worth Trying
I’ve been using the Tabasco Scorpion sauce for years, and I have to say, it delivers. It's fairly hot to me, so if you're sensitive to heat and think regular Tabasco is spicy, you'll want to take it slow. But the great thing is that it still has a solid flavor, unlike some super-hot sauces that just taste like pure pain. There's a little bit of a fruity note in there that keeps it interesting. The bottle is the standard 5-ounce size, and honestly, you don't need much. A drop or two is usually enough to spice up an entire dish, so it will last you a while. I’ve been putting it on eggs, tacos, pizza, spaghetti, and just about everything else. If you are a fan of Tabasco and want to step up the heat level significantly, this is the one. Great buy, no complaints.

Incredible, but only for certain dishes IMHO
Five star rating, though I'm probably never buying this sauce again, even if it's still available a year from now. Bought four bottles a couple weeks back. As a Tabasco Habanero addict (like five 1-gallon jugs in the last five years for me alone), I do like my heat. And I adore my Tabasco. It's just the laws of physics that get in the way. The McIlhenny folks are supremely skilled, devoted, and brave -- they're actually devoted public servants as well as culinary artists of the highest degree. They looked at the burgeoning hot sauce landscape like 5-10 years ago, and challenged themselves: they asked the question, "could we do a truly great super-hot sauce?" And they decided, brilliantly, on a totally Jamaican flavor profile. They passed over the simplistic carroty/tomatoey Habanero sauce formulas, and went straight for the complex exquisiteness of Caribbean style. This means scorching heat from painstakingly bred super-hot peppers, astoundingly married to their polar opposites. The Tabasco Habanero is many times spicier than the century-old Tabaso Lousiana-style, but it is tempered with the coolest tropical fruits imaginable. Banana. Guava. Papaya. That sauce is a masterpiece: the first truly unadulteredly American hot sauce with a classically American melting pot of foreign influences. I will buy more gallons, and continue putting it on everything from steak to hot dogs to spaghetti. But the ingenious (yet kind) folks at McIlhenny are never satisfied with mere perfection: they always want to move forward, especially as American tastes evolve. Which brings us to the exciting new territory beyond Habaneros, such as the Scorpion pepper. Yet the problem is unsolvable. It's basic math. Chemistry. Physics. As you make sauces from hotter and hotter new cultivars of peppers, people are obviously going to use less of it to get their preferred heat. The inspirations for the wonderful Scorpion Sauce are clear: beloved old Jamaican entries like Pick-A-Pepper (with its Bird Peppers). But the problem is clear: when you use less sauce, it means you can't taste the other ingredients as well. Tabasco Scorpion is a skillful balance of pineapple and guava with deliciously hot Scorpion peppers. Simply superb. But where I, personally, can enjoy a tablespoon of Tabasco Habanero per dinner, I can only stomach about a teaspoon of Scorpion (before violent internal revolution takes place). I get the heat all right, but without nearly as much of that awesome tropical breezy counterpoint. I think Tabasco Scorpion is a great replacement for my Pure Cap One Miilion Scoville extract when it comes to certain foods like tuna or curry, where I don't want much fruity flavor intruding beyond the sheer inferno. But for most super-hot dishes I think I will stay with the Tabasco Habanero, where I can have the maximum cold/hot dynamic going for me. Love McIlhenny. Love Tabasco. But despite my five-star rating, the Scorpion is a little too far for me to venture much.

Hottest sauce I actually enjoy.
I like hot sauce, but not necessarily HOT sauce. This sauce packs a punch, but not enough to make you stop. It's also not hot to just be hot, there's actual flavor to compliment the heat. It's the hottest sauce I actually enjoy. If sriracha is a heat scale 3, this is a 5. Good stuff.

Serious heat and different flavor profile
First off, anyone buying this sauce forget about the original. The flavor profile and heat of this sauce is worlds apart from the original. The heat on this scorpion sauce is really hot, not your average grocery store fare. I love heat, and made the mistake of shaking a lot of it on to my dish. Super hot nova fire! With this sauce keep it to a few drops until you get to know it and adjust your heat accordingly. A great sauce to add to my cabinet, but this flavor is for certain dishes. The original is not that hot but goes with more dishes adding just a hint of heat.

Very hot, very good
It's not insane, but it's hotter than the original Tabasco by far. It also is very different than the original. It doesn't have that pronounced vinegar aspect, and it's very slightly smokey. Excellent on things like pasta with tomato-based sauce and salad dressing for extra punch and a flavor accent. This is a nice-sized bottle, and a good value.

Deliciously Spicy!
The bottle needs to have “Careful What You Wish For” on the label. It’s delicious BUT not for the faint of heart. Great in small amounts. Ridiculously god AND spicy in larger doses. 10/10

I got it for insect repellant
Since the capsaicin in the peppers is an insecticide, I got the Scorpion sauce for that reason. I need it to put in a little creme Brulé dish under the catfood bowl, for both the inside and outside cats. I've lived in this present place for more than fifteen years, and so far the ants have not been able to get the upstairs catfood bowl, but they did this year. So, I have to create the capsaicin moat around the bowl for my inside cats, same as I do for the outside cats. It really works, the ants won't cross the moat, and they will "tell their friends." I was using my normal hot sauce for the moat, but I figured the scorpion sauce would be better, or I would need less of it (I dilute it in water). I also use it on the edges of my jute front doormat, because the squirrels like to rip off little tufts of the jute for their nests. This stuff really works, I have not had any problems with the squirrels, either, since using hot sauce on my doormat. Naturally, I wanted to try out this sauce to see how hot it was, so, since I only like mild to medium heat, I used a tiny bit on my finger from the bottle and put it on the middle of my tongue. I'm guessing that it's more painful at the tip of the tongue? Anyway, it wasn't that hot at first, but then when I somehow next inadvertently swished it around, then it hit. Thankfully I used a small enough amount that it wasn't a problem, and the burning went away really quickly, too. I have other hot sauces that I enjoy and will stick to using those. I understand if people want the burning experience, but I prefer to taste my food and make it about that. Anyway, yes, this is a "hot," hot sauce for anyone interested, and I encourage people to use this as insect repellent, too, because that is true point of the capsaicin in the first place, to repel insects and other pests. I will buy again as needed!!

Rica y extremadamente picosa
Exelente, creo que es la mejor salsa de esta marca, pero ojo, la verdad es una de las más picosas qué hay, y lo especifica diciendo que en serio es extremadamente picosa, así que si te gusta algo así, adelante

Extremely hot but full of flavor! 🌶 🌶 🌶 🌶🔥
This is by far the spiciest Tabasco I’ve ever tried! The Scorpion Sauce definitely delivers intense heat, but what surprised me most is how flavorful it is. It’s not just burning spice it has a rich taste that makes food so much better. I add just a few drops to my meals and it completely transforms them. Perfect for anyone who loves extreme spice but still wants great flavor. Be careful though a little goes a long way!

Not your grandma’s Tabasco
Yeah... this ain’t your everyday grandma’s Tabasco bottle. ::Taste:: Super pepper-forward with a hint of sweetness and a touch of complexity. Unlike the classic Tabasco, it doesn’t lean hard on the vinegar, just enough to keep it shelf-stable, I’d guess. The flavor is actually really enjoyable. I could see this working great with steak, chicken, eggs... honestly, it feels like a solid all-around hot sauce. ::Heat:: I’d give it an 7/10. It’s hot! I’d guess close to 100k SHU. The burn hits mostly the front and back of the mouth, not so much the throat, so it’s intense but not unbearable. Doesn’t trigger fight-or-flight, but it definitely gets your attention. The heat doesn’t linger too long either, which weirdly makes you want more. So you add more. ::Caution:: Just don’t do what I did and start with a full tablespoon thinking, "Pff, it's just Tabasco. How hot can it be?" Start slow, find your sweet spot. Highly recommended for heat lovers looking for something with great real kick and flavor.
