3 hour timer
The shape and size of this portable induction cool top looks great but the nob feels cheap and easy to break. Also, the maximum cook timer is 3 hours. I bought this specifically to do large pots of bone broth, which need to cook longer than 3 hours.Update- The company reached out to me and reported they would be updating the length of the timer so that it would be easy for me to be able to cook meat broth/stock all day on simmer. I am excited to hear about the new product once the extended timer is available. Their communication has been kind and thorough. Quality customer service is rare. Once the new product with the longer timer is available for purchase I will update to 5 stars!

Very nice Induction hob
First off I bought this as a "used but like new" unit and paid $127 for it.It came in filthy like someone had really used it alot more than once, but i took some cleaner to it and stainless polish and it looked really good in 30 seconds.Someone had clearly dropped it on its left front corner and dented it in.This of course has nothing to do with what should be a brand new never used one.As far as how it works, so far excellent. It has a large 9.25" coil so instead of like most Induction hobs that have a 4 or at most 6" coil this one heats up the entire bottom of up to a 12" cast iron skillet which are usually about 10" on the bottom.heats up very evenly over the entire surface. It heats up very fast, much quicker than our 18,000 BTU gas stove.Puts out way less heat into the kitchen when cooking.Very simple operation, an On button, a button to switch from Temp to Watts which frankly is not needed just go by the watts, and a dial that quickly goes from 200w to 1800w.Its very easy to clean I keep a paper towel on top of it at all times so any spills just hit the towel and I will just toss it and replace. This unit also simmers nicely and continuously, it doesn't super heat at 1200+w for 1/2 second then off for a second or two then 1/2 second full blast, this is just a nice even and continuous heat at exactly the power you need. You can turn it to 1800w to get a pot of water to boil quickly then as soon as it starts to boil you can turn the dial down to 1100w and it instantly lowers the boil right down to exactly where you want it.There are only two things that I do not like about it, one is there is no way to actually turn it off which is kind of insane. If you leave it plugged in then the power button just flashes red and the LED panel just shows 4 red lines across it so basically you have to physically unplug it. That's ridiculous so i bought a plug with switch on it so i can just shut it off with the flick of a switch at the plug.problem solved but still pretty stupid.Next is it has an obnoxiously loud beep for every button push and every click of the dial, it doesn't need ANY sound at all, zero reason for it, and it is excessively loud.after a few months I may just open it up and see if I can find that beeper and disconnect it.So other than those two minor annoyances it is much better than any of the other hobs on Amazon that are under $1500.

Much faster, powerful and cooler to be around than gas burner
I'm incredibly impressed with this product, and I'm now exclusively switching to induction cooking. This induction plate has a large 9-inch coil, which is rare and incredibly useful because it provides ample space for a 12-inch cast iron skillet. With 1800 watts of power, it can boil a large pot of water in under 5 minutes. The timer is very convenient, especially when using a pressure cooker, and it offers me a high-quality alternative to an instant pot with manual high pressure settings.

Only provides a fraction of the advertised power
The media could not be loaded. I had high hopes for this cooktop. It’s advertised as having a 9 inch coil, which is a rarity yet essential for cooking with a large pan. It does seem to have a large coil, but there is a fundamental problem: it doesn’t provide the power that it’s supposed to. This cooktop, like pretty much all good induction cooktops, is supposed to be 1800 Watts. But when I noticed that water was taking forever to boil, I plugged it into my watt meter. And, sure enough, it was only drawing about 1100 Watts. I’ve tried every pan I have (large and small, carbon steel, cast iron, and clad) with similar results. With that little power, it’s going to take much longer to get your pan up to temperature. In fact, it’s basically useless for the large pans that this cooktop is supposed to be used with.I’m an electrical engineer, so I’m especially disappointed that they managed to build a cooktop with a big coil (which is rare and more expensive) but whiffed on something so simple as providing enough power (usually cheap and easy).

Kind of surprised.
I guess I didn't know exactly what to expect. This thing is large! It also seems to be built like a tank and works Great! One thing I don't like is it reads in Celsius only... minor inconvenience.Absolutely no disappointment here and I would highly recommend this induction cooker... at least for now. It's way too early for any... (I've been using this now for two years... type review); but for now, I'm very pleased with this unit.Would I recommend it? Absolutely!
