Shimano ST-3500 Sora Shifter/Brake Lever STI Set (2x9 Speed)

Recently had my Dura Ace ST-7700 9 speed levers fail (2nd pair BTW) on my 10 year old road bike, found out that replacement Dura Ace or Ultegra 9 speed levers are hard to come by and pricey these days in the used market. Was happy to find that the 2013 Sora gruppo is now 9 speed, and that these levers were just the ticket in getting my bike back on the road quickly and cheaply. Couldn't be happier! Amazon had these for a great price and got them out to me in a couple days. Really nice! Comes with a full set of quality Shimano cables and housing to redo ALL road bike brake and shifter cabling (a great upgrade in of itself). The trickle down technology is apparent here, as these latest Sora levers seem to shift and perform as well very close to the 10 yr old Dura Ace levers. Fully compatible with my mongrel mix of 9 speed Ultegra/105 components. These may be slightly heavier, and are more bulbous in shape, so they don't look quite as bling as Dura Ace, but they are really comfortable to ride the hoods, and I've grown to like the stealth black look. So far so good, still shifting great after several hundred miles. Give 'em a try if you need new 9 speed levers.

Good basic STI shifters. They get the job done without undue fuss. Better rear shifts than front. Not to be mistaken for more pricey options. Replaced broken 105 shifters that looked better and were abit smother. For the price they are fine. Easy to install, included all cables and housing. Easy clamp adjustment.Like all such levers getting the best bar location is crucial for easy of use and weight distribution.

Replaced my wife's broken shifter with these, better than the originals.

I purchased these as a replacement for Shimano 105 leversI would have returned for credit for #1 & #2 below, but because they appear to be great quality, & I had spare parts, I completed the install.Time will tell if the appearance of quality is accurate.I would have given an overall rating of 5, if not for the following issues:1) the package had obviously been sold, returned, & sold to me. All packaging had been opened & a poor attempt to conceal was made2) Directions, useless. Luck for me, I have an excellent working knowledge of all bike components & was able to complete the R&R.3) Because my package had obviously been sold, returned, & resold I can't confirm if the package was missing parts and/or the parts are intentionally not included. There were two inner shift cables, but NO inner brake cables. Luck for me, I was able to use the old inner brake cable. But if these inner brake cable are to be included, it would be nice if this seller would ship me two new inner brake cables

Really awesome shifters, since replacing rides have been so more enjoyable being able to shift on command without it getting stuck
