I gave this just 4 stars only because it cannot hold anything to heavy or bulky in lock position but other than that it is great. I had another type for many years which broke last year & physio & OT could not find me anything like it but I did my homework & after much searching found this & gave it a go. It’s not as strong as my old type which no longer exists but I have now recommended this to OT’s & Physios for anyone like myself who has extremely limited grip in their hands. Would be a bonus if they put a small magnet & hook on the end of the gripper to pick things up with.

Can pick most things with it with a good grip

I don't have a very strong grip and small items sometimes dropped out of the grabber I was using previously. This item has been both a revelation and a godsend.Anything which fell onto the floor (pills anyone?) had to stay there until this gadget arrived. It's got a strong grip and once the locking mechanism has been mastered, it's easy to secure even the smallest item (again, pills anyone?) to ensure it stays gripped until it reaches the hand. To be honest, I'd be lost without it at the moment.I also bought the longer, 32" version, which is useful for reaching into more inaccessible places but for everyday use I find this length perfect for my needs. I've had absolutely no issues with poor quality so I'm very happy to recommend this product.

This gridlock device is fairly robust for the price but is unable to grip anything hard enough to safely and securely lift. The manufacturer's designer seems ignorant of the physics of leverage and mechanical advantage. The hand control moves a very short distance, certainly much less than the jaws operate. This rather like trying to start off a car in top gear. The result makes it's use quite limited. The locking mechanism is an unwanted complication that seems to have a mind of it's own. I wish I'd had the chance to try before buying and would have chosen another device.

The inch high gap under my furniture is just perfect for cat toys to fit under, but not my hands, but this gripper is perfect for getting the toys back! The cats are very happy every time they see me get this gripper out because they know they are getting their toys back again!

I bought this to use litter picking at my local beach. I found the actual hand grip very flimsy and am sure it will break very soon.The worst thing was when actually closing the hand grip it just constantly rubbed the inside of my thumb to the point that I couldn’t use it.This maybe ok for folk who only need/want to pick the odd item up every day, but for a litter picking job, this gadget failed the test and I will have to buy a different make

Very helpful and works well.Gripping goodVery strong and light weightThe lock feature is a really good idea .My hands are not great so this will be a great addition for me.Someone who has reduced strength in their hands will definitely find this a good thing.
