Easy to apply, not harmful to wildlife other than slugs.
Nematodes to level the playing field against marauding slugs. This, for me is an “enough is enough “ product. I tend my garden, plant expensive plants and pretty flowers and then overnight a slimy army comes along and munches away on my very expensive plant buffet.I’ve tried:egg shells- ignoredCoffee grinds- slithered across, leaving a trail of evidenceWool pellets- one of the better deterrents but some still venture across.Metal/copper rings around the tops of pots- slithered across and impossible to use on plants in the ground.Human hair- probably the best natural deterrent as they don’t like to go across the hair, but I’d be bald before I had enough hair to encircle all my plants.Garlic, chilli and cinnamon stinky spray- good but only as long as the rain doesn’t wash it off the leaves ( works really well on Hosta leaves in the summertime)Pellets- very effective but I don’t like putting poison into the environment and worry about the birds/ hedgehogs eating the poisoned pests. So nematodes is my next stepThe worms arrive in a slender pack that can be posted through a regular sized letter box, they look like a tray of sawdust. They are very easy to apply, you simply add the sawdust like mixture to 4 litres of water and stir like crazy. This 4litre mix is then diluted into a 5l watering can- you take 500ml of the mix, put it in the watering can and then fill it with water like normal and apply to the ground/pots.Repeat this until the 4litres of mix is all used up.This now needs watering in and the soil needs to be kept moist for the next 2 weeks at least. If the rain isn’t falling, you need to water it in yourself during this time.Nature then takes over. This is how they work:These nematodes live as parasites in slugs. They are called phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita (ph for short) and are used to control slugs in organic farming as well as gardens. The beneficial worms live in the ground and penetrate a slug’s body via its respiratory opening (mantle cavity). There, the nematodes secrete bacteria, which then decompose the slugs from within. The killing process is not yet entirely understood, however. Some bigger slugs might even be able to survive. Normally, it takes about six to ten days until the slugs die. After three days, the slugs stop eating.A nematode infestation can be recognized by the top of the slugs visibly swelling up.So I have done these first steps and now I wait... I will update my review as to my results.UPDATE- slightly over two weeks since the nematodes were deployed. The first night after applying the nematodes mixI went on a nocturnal slug hunt, I caught and killed ( decapitated with scissors) 50 slugs and 4 snails ( snails aren’t effected by the nematodes unfortunately)A week later I caught and killed 21 slugs and 3 snailsTwo weeks later I caught and killed 7 slugs and no snails. The weather conditions have taken a turn for the worse since applying the mix and it is a lot colder over night, but still sunny during the day. This change will no doubt have had some effect on the effectiveness of the nematodes as they may not have survived the chill, also my reducing the slug numbers by catching and killing them will no doubt have also influenced my results but to my mind these results show a success for the nematodes and I will be buying more as the summer progresses.

Seems to do the trick!
I applied the nematodes a few days ago and it seems to have decreased the amount of slugs drastically already! Not sure if that's coincidence but this is the only change! Worth the money to save hundreds of pounds worth of plants.

I think they work!
Easy to apply if you have a large holed rose for your watering can, if not it keeps blocking up. It’s one of those products that you never know for definite if it’s working, how many slugs would there be if I hadn’t used it???? Anyway I’ll buy some more this year (2024) assuming it’s back in stock soon!

Kills slugs...but not all
this is a pain to keep in the fridge and a pain to mix to the right quantity and a pain to apply in the garden.I guess there is no alternative. It seems to work well and keeps the slugs at bay and maybe some snails too..It's probably best to apply in spring and autumn to coincide with times when they eat your plants and reproduce. It definitely will need reapplying the following year

Highly effective
I grew vegetables or the first time this year. I decided mainly on greens: cauliflower, pak-choi, rocket, lettuce and the like. It wasn't terribly long before I began to notice significant slug damage. Venturing bravely out in the night with the aid of a torch I found and disposed of around thirty slugs, but it was clear that I needed to do more than that.My father-in-law recommended nematode worms. These parasitic worms eat the slugs under the soil during the day,so there should be no lettuce-munching monsters left to come out and ravage the vegetable patch at night. The worms come as eggs. Note that you must use then within a couple of weeks of receipt, as they are living creatures. You put them in a watering can full of water, stir them in and water them onto the soil round the plants you want to protect. I used twice the recommended concentration, or more accurately I went over the same ground twice using the correct concentration, because I wanted to make sure this would work. The only after-care required was to make sure the soil stays moist or the worms as they hatch. I wanted to keep my lettuce seedlings watered anyway, so this wasn't a problem. And blow me down: I haven't had a problem with slugs at all since then. I think the packet says it provides up to six weeks of protection, but for the plants I've been growing that pretty much protects them for the entire growing-cycle.I have suffered a little caterpillar damage (nematodes don't protect against caterpillars, and I'm reluctant to do anything that might harm our dwindling population of native butterflies), but there's been no sign of slug damage at all.

Does not work
I applied this slug killer as per instructions and waited. I kept the area moist as instructed but the slugs keep coming and eating my plants. I did contact the seller and asked for a refund but nothing so far.A very expensive mistake. Very disappointed with Green Gardener. PLEASE refund as requested.
