My cat loves this product
I think that it works for hair balls. No scientific proof but less throw up for sure. She still eats dry too.

worked great for my cat
This cat food helped to reduce bilious and hairball vomiting for my cat dx with mild ibd based on blood tests and ultrasound. I do frequent small feed with wet food and this dry food. my cat likes this chicken (didn’t like the turkey and rice indoor hairball version but now this is out of stock and this is purina’s response - Ongoing industry-wide supply chain challenges are making it difficult to get key ingredients that meet our quality and safety requirements, which has led to the difficult decision to suspend production on some products, including Pro Plan Adult Hairball Management Chicken & Rice Formula.

Great cat food, but inconsistent availability
My cats love this food and it seems to have helped their hairballs but the product is hardly ever available. It's so inconsistent it's really hard keeping my cats on it

Cat Loves It
Purina Pro Plan Hairball Dry Cat Food, FOCUS Hairball Management Chicken & Rice Formula - 3.5 lb. Bag - my very picky Maine Coon gobbles up this food. He has eaten it for about a week, so I've yet to determine if it has helped his hairball situation. Nothing in the past week, so maybe it is working. I'm truly glad that he likes the flavor, he even seems to prefer it over his wet food which is a miracle. Recommend.

WOW
My picky eater kitty loved this food!!!! I was previously feeding her Hill Science diet hair ball formula and she ate it for a while but suddenly stopped. She lost almost 2 lbs because she would rather starve than eat something she doesn’t like. I got this food for her and she’s gained all her weight back in like a week. She’s been eating so much that now I feel like I have to measure her food out and only put in her bowl what she should have for the day. She’s never eaten this much before. As far as the hair ball control, I will have to come back to give an update for that. We’ve struggled with hair balls a lot and I’ve tried so many different foods and treats. Hoping this one makes a bigger difference.

Not bad, but not great for allergic cats
I fed this to my longhaired for years per my vet's rec. He was losing his floof due to skin allergies (which were thought to be environmental) and developed a subsequent hairball problem. It helped his hairballs, and he liked it. HOWEVER, after I switched him to Ziwi Peak, his allergies DISAPPERED. Now I just add a little bit of hairball buster to his new food, and he's a new man. I wish I had known about the potential for food ingredients to cause skin allergies a long time ago. Hoping this review steers some folks in a better direction.

Good stuff for hairball issues!
Buddy the Cat had severe hairball issues. He refused the gels, the treats, the pastes. This stuff he LOVES (as do the other two cats). They get it once or twice a week. No diarrhea and no hairballs.

Doesn't seem to help hairballs
Got this for my 2 middle aged cats. Mixed half n half with my usual high protein kibbles, and the cats get canned food too. Still see vomit balls, although they chew my plants less.
