Evoluent Right Handed Wireless Vertical Mouse, VMOUS4WRLHY

Bought this to see if it would help with pains in the back of my hand and wrist which I’d developed after prolonged use of a flat mouse. I can feel improvement and pain gradually going away now that my mouse hand is positioned more vertically. Very light touch required with the buttons and hand movement is minimised.

I am 56, and work in full-time administrative role requiring me to use a computer all day. I had been using a normal mouse for years, with no problems. However, I started getting stiffness in the middle joints in my fingers a few months ago. I went to the doctor, had a blood test to rule our rheumatoid arthritis (which it did) and the only conclusion was that I had RSI. I was advised by my colleague to book an appointment with the health person in HR at work. I did this, and my IT department provided me with an Evoluent mouse. To say I hated it at first is an understatement. I was thinking "No way will I ever get used to this!" However, somebody else at work who had been provided with the same mouse said that I needed to persevere, so I did. I had to admit, it caused no pain in my hand as the regular mouse had done, but I found it very hard to use accurately. I decided to initially keep both the Evoluent mouse and the regular mouse so I had a choice. I was slow with the Evoluent mouse so made a point of using it for just a part of each day. I did this for about two weeks, and gradually I found I was using the Evoluent mouse more and more, until one day I realised I hadn't used the regular mouse for a whole day. At that point, I gave the regular mouse back to IT. I have now fully adjusted and find the Evoluent mouse as easy to use as the regular mouse, but now I'm comfortable so it's finally become a win-win situation. My fingers no longer click or give me pain, and in the end, I actually found that when I was using my computer at home, I found I was missing my work Evoluent mouse. I only use my home laptop for personal use, so obviously I couldn't ask work for another Evoluent mouse for home. I therefore decided that to have the same comfort at home for £80 was well worth it, and I have therefore purchased the same mouse for myself to use at home, and I am very happy that I have done so. Please note this is a completely unbiased review, I'd never even heard of 'Evoluent' before getting the mouse at work.

I have severe nerve damage due to carpal tunnel because I used a computer mouse for over 25 yrs non stop until my left hand could take it no more. I was left handed but forced to use my right hand. I will never use another normal mouse again.I am a avid mmorpg gamer and worried this would not work with the games such as rift, neverwinter, everquest 2 online games. I tell you it works perfectly for me.I had no learning curve, all I did was download the drivers to use more of the buttons. The small fits my hand perfectly I wear a size 7 USA size glove. The thumb rest is so comfortable,buttons easily reached, along with the scroll wheel. I am giving 5 stars with my gratitude because of this mouse I can play my games again and use a mouse for work as long as the mouse is evoluent.One word of warning the vertical mouse is large so do not think you can use a small mouse mat. I am back on amazon looking for a large hard surface mouse pad. I bought the kennsington wave that has red and black gel wrist rest. The pad is awesome and the mouse glides across the surface, but the problem is the surface is to small.If someone could tell me which Mousepad they recommend with this that has a large surface I would appreciate it.I am buying another evoluent today that is wireless, and one for my husband that is larger. Thank You again for in my opinion a perfect beautiful vertical mouse. One suggestion you only made a colored one in purple but I would also like to see the wireless come in different colors and sizes. I am going to try and use the left handed one with my left hand to see if I can use the hand again so I bought the left handed grey one even though I find the color boring. I love the red lights for dpi settings and also green logo. Keep up the great work and thank you again
