The cable Apple supplies with the IPAD, although adequate for computer synching, is not really long enough for use conveniently as a power supply or for recharging.I tried using a 2 metre USB extension but that did not always provide an adequate current.This cable however works perfectly. I've bought over 5 of these chargers from the same supplier now. They're not great, each one has broken on average after around 6 months. But in my experience this is the best replacement cable I've found in terms of price and how long it lasts. The ones from apple are £14.99 and probably only last a short amount of time longer. I'd rather pay 4 pounds slightly more often. Personally I think its just a flaw in the design of the iphone 4, the chargers going to break no matter who you buy it from.
