Exceeded my expectations!
I have tried a few brands of hay in the past, and until I saw and smelled this one, I didn't know hay could be this good. It was a refreshingly green color and very soft. It smelled like it just got cut off the field and made my downstairs smell like a lovely farm :)The quality waaay surpasses the competitors. It is in full grass form with almost no stalks. It is in a de-compacted form so reaching in and grabbing a handful doesn't mean you have to rip and tear some away making a mess all over your floor. It comes in a white box, in a clear bag, with one of those ties that come on bread. This apparently really helps keep it fresh. Don't get rid of the box, keep it in there. The way the hay is layered in there really helps with the feeding process. And unlike the other brands, this stuff made my bunny run to it like she does to a bowlful of veggies. As soon as I put it in her hay rack, she goes right for it. And there is significantly less of the inedible stuff on the floor of her cage. The verdict? A wonderful hay that is way worth the price and the wait. Forget about the stuff in the pet store and make this your go-to brand.

Great quality, hard to get
My guinea pigs love this hay. It is very soft. Great quality and always arrives fresh. I would give it 5 stars but it is often difficult to get.

This stuff is awesome!
I used to have a pet rabbit, as a child had a pony and also worked on a horse farm most summers as a teenager. Granted, usually horses get alfalfa or brome hay. Anyhow, I've bought bagged hay for tiny critters and I've thrown (small bales) baled hay. When I opened the box this came in and then the bag I was absolutely amazed. This is some of the best smelling dried stuff I've ever seen sold for pets. Wonderfully sweet fragrance (kind of like when you get really good leaf tea), big whole pieces, not chopped... our guinea pig goes nuts for the stuff and I don't blame him.I just had to buy more guinea pig food (the pellet stuff) and I decided to be sure I could find the hay again - finally ended up going back to my purchase history to be sure I found it and put it on my shopping list to keep it as my regular purchase for Fezzik. This stuff is pricey, but it's great. I think I'll probably go through five pounds every two months or close to that. We still have almost half the box. It smelled so good and was such high quality, though, I wanted to be sure I didn't "lose track" of what I had ordered previously.Definitely recommend.

Good, but I probably won't be back
Pros:My bunny loves this hay.It smells very fresh and fragrant. The color is bright and the stalks are well-varied in length.Cons:Around 30% of the hay is brown and withered, and that part ends up going to waste. The bag it came in was extremely thin and had holes in it, so I had to seal it in a heavy duty trash bag.All in all, I'm not sure if I got what I paid for. I'll leave you to decide.

Dusty, short, brown, made my bunny cough
The media could not be loaded. I have been buying this for years, but starting from 2014 the quality has SIGNIFICANTLY dropped, it's now much more dusty, brown, short and just over all inedible.Review update (7/4/14):I dropped 3 stars from the product because of 2 reasons:1. The price hike, it used to be about $17, to $26, now $332. The quality of the hay has significantly dropped, it no longer look like the hay in my video anymore; more often than not, it's dusty, many brown, short pieces, and also quit moist; it almost looks like you get the scraps of hay. After nearly 3 years of buying this hay I became quite disappointed with this product since about 6 months, yes the prime delivery is amazing, but the quality and the price just does not match up.The strange thing is, if you buy it straight from americanpetdiner.com (I usually get the 25 lb gold timothy), the quality is really fantastic, like how this 5lb one used to be. The 25lb box's price is ok ($54) but shipping is hefty (about $38), totaling $92, and it always takes 10+ days to arrive; the cost & inconvenience really adds up, we often run out of hay before the big box arrive & end up buying bad quality hay from pet stores. I started to find other places to order hay, fresh, affordable & fast shipping are my priorities, please leave me a comment if you have good recommendations. Thanks.

The first batch I got was excellent, it came in a big box
I started buying this product for my guinea pig in April. The first batch I got was excellent, it came in a big box, uncompressed, it was very green and smelled very fresh. I was very happy about it, so was my guinea pig. It lasted my guinea pig for more than a month. The next 4 orders I got have been getting worse and worse. I never write reviews online, but I wanted to warn the other buyers of the quality. I saw that other people have also seen the quality getting worse. Now the hay is mostly dry, there are A LOT of brown pieces. It is definitely not worth the price you are paying. Sadly, I have to look for a new brand. I hope they bring the quality back, otherwise, don't buy it...

good, but not consistent
I ordered from this company last month, mostly due to the great but sparse reviews and the free prime shipping. The hay was amazing. Sweet smelling, fresh, and long green stalks. Therefore, I didn't hesitate to buy from them again this month. But the cut this time around was quite disappointing. The hay was cut into shorter pieces and wasn't the same vibrant green. It didn't smell sweet and felt very dry with mixed brown pieces. I will probably order from them again to see how the consistency is, but be warned.
