Jolly Phonics Resources Cd

I don't like the Jolly Phonics reading scheme having used paper worksheets with 'sound actions' from school.However this DVD is brilliant and can be used without reference to the rest of the Jolly Phonics scheme. There are no references to the 'sound actions' on the DVD.I have tried lots of different interactive phonic reading resources and this is the best one I've found for younger children. (Wordshark 4 and Nessy are excellent for older children with reading difficulties.)When you purchase this product you receive 2 discs supplied in a single case - one disc for PC & one for Mac.My kids have been using the PC disc for 18 months plus. It runs fine on XP and Windows 7 but sometimes bombs out on Vista.The high quality graphics and sound are perfectly pitched at 3 and 4-year-olds. The many different games are fun to play and teach phonic sounds and phonic blending very well. There are different versions of the games for different levels of reading ability.The discs supplied cannot be copied to give yourself a back-up disc and the software must be run with the disc in the disc drive; this can be a problem when young children can't resist ejecting the disc.

I though this was a music cd, I though it would have music with someone sounding out the phonics, a rhyme for my child to sing along to and sound out all the sounds correctly. this is a cd with resources.

Recommended by school and very effective. No need nowadays as online kindle versions more convenient

Found this video a useful preparation for learning how to read / familiarise with the phonics technique for pre-school children.There's a whole range of supporting material that you can find in addition to the videos.

My son thinks this is a treat and a reward - he gets computer time but its purely educational so I don't mind how long he plays this game. Fantastic computer game for beginners learning to read and spell. All phonic based so it corresponds to the phonic system he uses at school. A wonderful educational tool.

A great resource to use in the classroom and many ideas which can be adapted and improved for use in the classroom or for home learning.

Works great alongside the workbooks. My little one loved it. She can read very well thanks to this.
