It works
It fit my pops log splitter with no issues. We cycled it roughly 10 times before I realized the hydraulic tank was nearly empty. Once full, it transitioned smoothly from retracted to full extension after a few cycles. The only issue I have is that it may be a little to big for the pump and valve on our splitter as it moves slowly. Slower than the leaky POS that came off the tool. Either way we have a working splitter that doesn’t leak oil like Exxon Valdez.. Lol. Thanks. I would buy this cylinder again as it looks to be of good quality.

Cylinder
The cylinder was a great replacement for my Dirty Hand Tools 28 ton log splitter. I’m not a fan of the way they shipped it. One thin layer of bubble wrap around the cylinder in a box. It had some scratches but not as many as I was expecting when I saw the condition of the box. If it was shipped better, I would have given it 5 stars.

Not quite "Universal Replacement"
Cylinder appeared to be of high quality however I had to make some modifications to both the cylinder and my log splitter to facilitate installation. Cylinder operated well and had no problem with splitting difficult logs. I would buy this product again.

Good piston.
Put this on a 1970s horizontal splitter with a few modifications. Works fine. Thought I broke it at first but it just needed to cycle about 20 times before it completely filled with fluid. I'm not a hydraulic mechanic.
