Suave y ligera

So misleading! This isn't denim at all. Its cotton/spandex
This is a nice lightweight jacket and I do like it. But FYI....it fits small but the spandex makes it very comfy. I especially like the front lower pockets. **But it's not denim at all. Very misleading!! Its 98% cotton and 2% spandex. That is not cool folks and its unfortunate because it's a good little jacket. Fix the heading and I may have even give it 5☆'s rather than just 3.

Comfy
It's been years since I owned a denim jacket. Although it was stylish, cool and trendy, I don't recall it being particularly comfortable. I remember it feeling sort of stiff and bulky, and definitely had no stretch to it. This one from Lee Riders looks true to style, but is so soft and comfortable, it feels like it has been washed 100 times already. It has just the right amount of stretch, and the denim material is just the right weight - not too thick - not too thin. I recommend.

I wanted this to be something it's not not what it was -
Perhaps I should have bought a cotton denim jacket like the one I wore in the 70s but I needed one I could button up. I figured a bit of yield in the fabric would be just the thing. And this jacket does button up but it's not 'just the thing". It's its own thing; a fine thing for anyone who isn't looking for the denim jacket of her past. This fabric is comfortable and attractive but its weight is so light that I was sure i had mistakenly purchased a denim shirt (the authentic kind - i'm not suggesting the jacket is threadbare), but if you want an idea of its weight, think men's denim shirt circa 1980)I chose to believe I was buying a Jean jacket with a bit of stretchy stuff mixed in. I want the weight, the stiff lapels and cuffs. If that's what you want too, go for a bonafide denim jacket, avoid the prewashed, distressed, softened, beaten against rocks....anything that hints at a treatment. If you're tiny buy from the boys department, if not, visit the men's section (match your chest size against their sizing chart)I would call this a hybrid; the look and feel aren't exactly vintage Lee jacket but not everyone is as old and nostalgia driven as me...And there's no denying how soft and comfortable this jacket is. In the late 1920's, after Coco Channel liberated women from the confines of the corset, some women were appalled - they kept the market alive....there's not a lot of lacing up or whalebone in today's shapewear but it's here to stay. It's not for me, I don't even wear a bra - I let my freak flag sag - but microfibre is scary stuff, clothing companies (thanks to the global market) lie to our faces about cotton content, and 100% cotton knickers are increasingly rare and decreasingly sexy and I guess I'm not ready for the demin paradigm shift. I'm just another corset lady... but maybe I'm not alone.
