Allstate LeatherMen's AL2001 Basic M.C. Jacket

QUALITY: It's lower grade leather but not the thinnest or flimsiest I've seen. It's pretty average of leather jackets in the sub $100 range. Don't expect this to protect you from a crash. Its more of a daily wear jacket. The best way I can describe the leather is stiff, and brittle. Thin, but not paper thin like I've seen on some other jackets in this price range.FIT: The cut is very wide in the shoulders and made for taller athletically built guys with narrow waists. Being only 5'7" 120 lbs, 33" chest, 34" hips, 28" waist, the bottom of this jacket hits me at my hips about 3 inches below my belt. That said, the size 34 fits me in the shoulders and chest but I cannot close the jacket around my hips by about one inch. So I had to size up to a 36. I will probably put another snap mid-epaulet to pull in the shoulders though.FEATURES: This is the main reason why I bought this coat --- for the conceal carry pockets. It's the only one in this price range that has them and the CCW pocket linings are tough with integrated elastic straps for your pistol and spare magazine. The outer pockets are made of a less durable nylon material that will eventually degrade depending on how fully you stuff the pockets and whether or not you put sharp hard objects in them. I don't plan on using them for anything but my gloves, phone, and sunglasses. So they should hold up for a while. Overall this has lots of storage to carry all my gear. While my Schott Perfecto is much nicer, it has no usable inside pockets other than that useless "map pocket", which is basically a patch with the top open.VERDICT: For 93 dollars I know I'll get my money's worth out of this coat. It's a beater jacket and that's what I bought it for.

Make sure to buy this jacket in SPLIT COWHIDE. It looks much more expensive than the regular leather. The fit is true to size which is unusual for a traditional biker jacket. For a slim fit sizes 34 or 36.

Love it! Note to those who want this for fashion, this is classic fit, not slim fit, so its bulky and wide in the shoulders. but if that's what you want great, but this jacket is heavy and warm, definitely not just for fashion, its very functional unlike these skin tight poser "biker" jackets. I love it, its perfect!

PRO: it's cheap.CONS: 1) the leather feels, looks, and is cheap. I've worn it daily for less than a month and already the leather is beginning to split at the stress pointS, on the pockets (maybe that's why they call it split leather). 2) the polyester fill is starting to worm it's way through the cheap lining.BOTTOM LINE: CHEAP. CHEAP. CHEAP...GARBAGE.

huge value for the price. bought one size up as recommended and am happy with the fit.
