It works fab! The previous reviewer does not know what they are talking about!First of all you don't "need" to download the app to get it to work. It works fine without. There are manual controls on the front of the unit to change frequency. It couldn't be easier.Secondly - It's not supposed to be able to transmit over a radio station! Use some common sense! You have to find a free frequency and select that. That's where the app comes in as the app can do that for you (although it's not rocket science for crying out loud!)The sort of power you'd need to transmit over a radio station would mean you'd need a licence to operate the transmitter! These types of devices are very, very low power so as not to cause disruption (otherwise you'd have a pirate radio station and you'd broadcast over everyones car radios on the motorway!)So in conclusion I think this is a very neat little bit of kit. Small and lightweight. It's great that it charges the phone too and the fact that it takes digital audio out of the iPhone means that you've only got one connector, the Lightning connector (rather than having to plug in the 3.5mm headphone jack as well as the Lightning). Sound is quite good. Better than the Belkin ones I've had. If I was to be critical I'd say it was a little on the quiet side but it's still one of the best sounding and best featured iPhone FM transmitters I've ever had.

This doesn’t work in my car whether I use a preset channel (which was perfect for my last transmitter) or the scan feature :(

For older cars without AUX or USB ports the itrip allows you to connect your iPod/ iPhone to the car Audio system easily

Had this less than 12 months and now it's stopped working altogether. Can't find out how to return it. Use it for listening to audio books only in the car. Worked well initially, then started dropping out after about 5 minutes listening. Now just get static constantly even though the book is playing. Tried retuning to different stations without success. This item was quite expensive and I expected it to work for years. Bitterly disappointed. Any constructive help/advice much appreciated.
