Good
The book is good but in my opinion Couture tailoring by Claire Shaeffer is better. I am a professional pattern cutter and garment maker and would recommend that one instead, for making a tailored jacket. I ordered both and sent the Cabrera back.

Very good resource book with only occasional passages that are difficult to follow from the diagrams given.

Excellent Tailoring Book
This is one of the best books on tailoring that you will find on the market today. The authors produced two books; one for womens tailoring and the other for men. The layout of both books are the same but the information in them differs for the male and female form (lumps and bumps on women need extra fitting and not the same for men!). The instructions are superb and the techniques are for a properly constructed tailored outfit without the need for any modern speed tailoring methods - very old school, which I absolutely love. There are scores of photo's in there and I would have given it 5 stars apart from the fact the photo's look like photocopies of photocopies and are therefore very grainy and any definition you were hoping to see in great detail has been lost. That said, they are perfectly usable if you just take your time to examine them thoroughly and the text/knowledge conveyed by the author far outweighs this slight negative. You genuinly could make a custom tailored outfit from scratch using these books - fabulous!! If you're a serious sewer and tailor rather than just a general dressmaker (no offence meant) then you must get this book. It also covers fitting problems that you need to consider and correct before cutting the final patterns and constructing. Fitting is one of the most important aspects of a custom suit and if it is overlooked then it will so easily ruin even the most beautifully cut and sewn outfit.

High-quality tailoring advice, low-quality book
The authors' knowledge of tailoring is undoubtedly second to none, and this book takes you step by step through the entire process of tailoring a women's suit, with specific, easy-to-understand instructions and professional techniques. But buyer beware: the quality of this book is appalling for the price. It is B&W throughout. The photographs resemble poor-quality photocopies and are grainy, dark and hard to make out; the illustrations are rudimentary line drawings that occasionally border on the childish. If you are happy following well-written instructions, this book is a valuable addition to your sewing library; if you rely more on visual aids, it might not be the book for you.

Tailoring
Good book for learning the tailoring techniques, its more of a reference book as it is very boring to look at and read, very intense. Classic tailoring.

Classic Tailoring Techniques
The text is very good and informative, but the so called photographs are very poor quality for a book of this calibre. They look as if they have been photocopied. I would have expected better for the price, and the look of the book from the cover. As they say "never judge a book by its cover!"
