This is really nice to look at and really sturdy but I'm not sure how fit for purpose it is if you want your tree to last. It has a huge well for water but next year I will try putting some sort of plastic or aluminium dish inside to put the water in so it isn’t contaminated by the painted metal. For this price you’d think the well inside would be treated/coated with something different to the outer as the paint from it turned the water jet black and I have no doubt It ruined my tree. The tree was doing wonderful for the first day we put it up (it had been in our kitchen wrapped up for a week in water before buying this and was in perfect condition when we put it up) and then all of a sudden after a day or two it started to wither and dry out. When I checked the water it was jet black with whatever the iron well was painted with. It meant we had to try empty the well without moving the decorated tree which was a task in itself and impossible to get all the water out but the water was foul and the tree started to smell after just a few days. So the base is great aesthetically, looks lovely and traditional, heavy and sturdy, but the manufacturers should do something about the well like coat it with rubber or plastic or aluminium (or something!) so the paint doesn’t dissolve into the water and poison the tree. Next year I’m going to go to a garden centre to see what I can put in the well to hold water and see what happens then. I will update this then with the result if I remember!

This is an excellent product... never be afraid that your Christmas tree will get knocked over! This base is so sturdy that it would be impossible!

Very elegant stand, which is heavy and sturdy. I have used this for the last couple of years for 6ft-7ft Nordmann Firs. It is big enough to accommodate that size of tree, as it is quite a wide base, and keeps it very secure. There is also plenty of room to keep the water topped up and I have not had an issue with it leaking, like some other cheaper stands I have used in the past.

The christmas tree stand is beautiful, very heavy, and looks well made. I haven't used it for it's intended purpose yet, but it looks like it could hold a tree up in a blizzard, which is just what I was looking for after last years cheap-y stand fell over three times smashing delicate ornaments and finally cracked the water reservoir rendering itself useless!The colour of the stand is slightly muted as compared to the photo, but this doesn't detract at all from the beautifully made and STURDY stand. Excellent product and everyone who has seen it loves it.

Excellent item. Our original tree stand wasn't strong enough for our tree so had to act quickly and order another. Stand arrived quickly, excellent quality and heavy. Looked great in our period home. Only minus would be the huge chrome screws which really caught the eye. Didn't want to cover the beautiful stand with a tree skirt. Will have a solution by the time we need the stand again.

Sturdy and nice looking - HEAVY - can't wait to use it for Christmas, it's much better looking than those ugly plastic things! Arrived several days earlier than expected so the service was excellent.

Very nice but the nuts slip off the screws easily which makes it a bit awkward to attached them to the tree base.
