Great product, very easy to use and reasonably priced.
This is a great product and for me a life saver. Having bought a Japanse imported car, with limited radio frequencies, and no working CD player, this RealMax FM transmitter provided a cheap and perfect working solution. The transmitter works by taking an input and transmitting at a FM frequency that can be picked on the car radio. So for instance one can put in an SD card and play music directly. The RealMax seems to function like an MP3 player. One can also take the input via and audio lead. For instance I use my phone to connect to the RealMax and can play songs from my phone or listen to Radio 4 which is outside the frequency range of my car radio. The sound quality is that of FM radio signal. The RealMax has buttons to change the transmitted frequency. Also one can skip and change tracks via the buttons. A remote control is also provided which can used for changing the frequency and moving up and down the playlist. The display is rather small but does show the track being played. There is. USB port for Usb input. On the minus side, I couldn't find any instruction, although the product is easy to play around with. The unit swivels around, but it is sometimes hard to see what is on the display as it small. Overall, for the price, it is great and saved me lot of money having to replace the CD player. And it is also so simple to just plug into the cigarette plug and use.

Ok as a basic relay for your music
I like the product, it does what it is supposed to do and I have not really used all of the functions on it, but I would have really liked some instructions on it to explain what features it has and how to use them. There is a remote control which I cannot get to work, I can only assume that the remote will only work if a device is plugged in via the USB or the memory card slot as just using the 3.5mm jack cable the only thing I can do is control my music from my device (phone) and the volume from my car stereo. The transmitter also has a skip function on it which again does not work when using the 3.5mm jack cable. There have been a few occasions when the transmitter has switched itself off whilst playing which has been annoying as I then have to wait until I am in stationery traffic to switch it back on again. The product does feel a bit flimsy like it could break, the on / off switch is a bit temperamental and sometimes has to be pressed 3 or 4 times until it responds. As a basic device to use to listen to your music without the need to skip conveniently, this is fine. If you want a bells and whistles transmitter I am not sure if this is the one for you. I may be wrong as I have not fully used everything so you may need to read other reviews to get a better overview of the product.

REVIEW, THOUGHTS AND IMPRESSIONS
So if like me you're looking for a cheap and cheerful solution for playing your precious music in the car then you're probably tempted by the economic cost of this little beauty. It looks good. It's got more 5 star reviews than it does 1 star reviews. REALMAX seem to be a Registered Trademark. Obviously. What's 8 quid eh?A lot of these 5 star reviews even take this cheapness into account; you get what you pay for.Even the lower end reviews say that the only reason they didn't give 5 stars was because of radio interference in their area, but that the product itself was brilliant. Here is the bottom line. If you buy this, you have to understand there is a higher than normal risk of it causing you problems.I'll get the obvious out of the way. It is cheaply made, you do get what you pay for. There is no manual, it isn't too hard to use but you'll need to work it out yourself.Onto my experience:Delivery was fast but that doesn't matter. I'm reviewing a product, not the Post Office. What is this... eBay?It comes with a spare fuse. I have read that people think this is handy. This not a postive point. REALMAX should be confident in their product, they are obviously not. Many reviews show that these things can die after some use. A spare fuse only provides evidence for this. I'm not entirely confident that the thing could be put back together if you had to open it up anyway.Upon plugging it in and holding down the power knob to go to the menu, I had no way of knowing what I was doing because the menu was in Chinese. After some trail and error (again, no manual) I was eventually able set it to English. No problem, all I want is my music. My Galaxy S5 could not find it via bluetooth :'( I tried many times to get this to work. I checked the menu again for anything that would help. Nothing. My mate's Windows Phone was able to find it no problem and paired up fine but then would not work the next time. I've tried to use multiple phones. Android, Windows, iPhone, nothing will find it.No problem, it's got an aux port and a provided cable. The jack cable provided simply does not sit in the jack socket properly. The connection is always loose, any movement from the cable can partially disconnect it, causing cut offs, clicking and distortion. But I was eventually able to move the cable in such a way that there was none of that nonsense. So on to the sound quality. Not good. It chokes your audio. You're not going to get any definition on the bass or highs. Mids are muddy. It's all muddy. It gives the impression of being in mono, which it isn't, but it just feels cramped and lacks dynamic range. Switching straight away to something like Radio 1 and you immediately hear what FM is capable of.I have tested the audio using different frequencies, which can improve things marginally, but it's sadly the same story. All of this was tested in pretty much ideal radio conditions. I live in the middle of nowhere in the Scottish Highlands; no urban interference here. The volume of the device was quite low. I tried turning it up using the volume knob but this genuinely didn't make a difference. I don't mean 'didn't improve audio quality', I literally mean it didn't change the volume in any way whatsoever. I could turn it all the way to 0 and it would still be playing at the same volume. You can turn the volume up on your Car Stereo but then you can really hear crackling and interference coming from the transmitter. Not everyone has had such a bad experience. But like I said, there is a higher risk of negative stuff happening when you buy this. Hope this provided some insight. On the plus side, they got the colour right.

REALMAXÂź Car Music FM Transmitter
Bought this for a 02 plate Citroen C3 as it only came with a radio cassette player and this was a much cheaper and easier option than buying a replacement music system. I am able to listen to my music from mp3 player, iphone/ ipod or USB and SD/MMC memory card which also means that you can free up space in your glove compartment as you donât need to keep your cdâs in the car .It is very easy to use as all you have to do is find a empty frequency on your car radio system and then plug in the unit and tune it to the same frequency and your music will come through your car speakers. The set up only takes a matter of seconds and also has the advantage that it is portable and can use in whatever car you wish. All you have to do is just load up whichever tunes you want onto a memory card through your Pc laptop or even tablet and then slot that in and turn on your radio to listen to your music. I am thinking of buying at least another one so I can get rid of the cdâs in my other car and save some much needed space
