If so, then no, this is not the piece you want. If you look at the photo of the piece, the upright 'leg' of the T as it's shown here, holds a swinging flap, which sits across and regulates the flow in the through-pipe (allows liquid freely through in one direction, 'non-return' or blocked if the flow is the opposite direction) **Q: To ensure I have the correct fitting, my waste pipe is 40mm diameter. Does this non-return valve fit as the dimensions shown suggest it won't?** A: I have fitted mine to my 40mm waste pipe. Mine is push fit but it will also fit 40mm solvent pipe. **Q: Could this be used on the outlet flow of a macerator?** A: Yes. I have mine connected to a saniflow macerator although for kitchen use only, I have no experience of it being used in a WC system. I use it in a kitchen sink since the one valve system used is not very good when disconnecting the saniflow pump for repair/maintenance. **Q: Is it possible to buy the rubber seal separately as it wears after a period requiring the whole fitting to be bought just to get a new . Thanksseal** A: No you cant buy, but you can make one get a piece of gasket rubber and cut ring out. This was easy to fit and works well. No more bubbling up through the bath plughole.
