Don't Hesitate - By It Now!
If you are a rocky fan buy it now! You won't regret it. Superb but simple gameplay which makes the EA boxing games look ridiculously complicated and a waste of time and energy. Anyway how many of you out there only bought the likes of 'Knockout Kings' so you could create a Rocky character, like I did? Well there's no need, here you've got them all, Clubber Lang, Drago, Tommy Gun and Creed, even some of the club fighters that feature or are mentioned in the films.I bought this game after reading nothing but positive reviews here on amazon so I thought I owed it to everyone to write my own. Go for it!

The fighting system is good, easy to learn
The graphics hold up well even today. The fighting system is good, easy to learn, pretty intuitive. It also has a good number of fighters, though honestly who's going to fight as some randomer over one of the main film characters. However After going through a good few fights in story mode I simply could not progress, it was impossible and I had it on the easiest difficulty. I also didn't like the training mini games, found them a bit too hard too, thankfully you can auto train to train your skills. So yeah I did really like it but gave it away as story mode was just too hard for me.

Top quality Boxing game
This is without doubt the best boxing game available for the PS2. The playability is superb and the graphics look great. It's in Movie Mode that this game really comes into its own. You play as Rocky against various opponents including Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago and Tommy Gunn. You also get to take on such boxers as Spider Rico (Rocky's opponent at the beginning of the first movie)and Mac Lee Green (The boxer who pulled out of the first fight with Apollo which gave Rocky his chance). There is even a lovely little touch in the first fight against Apollo, where they have got Rocky wearing a different colour of trunks in the ring from the ones he is seen wearing in the poster in the arena. But be warned this game is no button basher. You might get away with it in the first couple of fights, but as the opponents get progressivley harder you will need a decent defence or your boxer will take a pounding. As in any activity which requires great physical exertion, you must train in order to get into peak physical condition. There are little mini games inside the movie mode where you train to upgrade your stats. You can autotrain if you want to, but if you are able to master the mini games (I still can't get to grips with the punchbag) your stats will rocket and your boxer will become stronger, faster, more determined etc. This game will keep you entertained for hours and if you fancy punching your friend's lights out the two player mode is just as good. It's a rare treat when you come across a game that you still want to play and which still challenges you six months after you bought it. Rocky is one of those games.

gets too easy but good
great boxing game but it does get to easy when you realise all you need do to beat any opponet is get the timing on double cross's downn - you will need every other technique to back that up but the ai's weakness to the cross is a bit to much. Having said that i am very good at fighting games and perfecting one move to beat down anyone is a specialty of mine so all modesty aside maybe im just to good.....

The Best Boxing Game EVER
From the clips of the movies before you get into the game all Rocky fans will be in for a treat. This sets you up wonderfully for what will be an experience you will never forget. From sparring to get your combos ready, the first boxing match you compete in(probably in the exhibition mode) right up to the crowning glory of doing what Rocky couldn't do in the film defeat Apollo Creed FIRST time, this ladies and gentlemen is the best boxing game ever produced and it joins a short list of excellent film licensed based games. If you haven't got it yet i have 1 question why not?See if you can go the distance

Dolph Lundgren, Mr T and Carl Weathers in a game!! Class!!
It is plain to see that this is the best and most enjoyable boxing game ever! It has a great one-player mode where you play through the movies, including the four main opponents Apollo, Clubber, Drago and Tommy Gunn. There are great little FMV sequences taken from the movie and the characters genuinely look like their real life counterparts. The game even features minor characters that Rocky has thought, such as Spider Rico, the guy he is fighting at the start of Rocky. It puts you into to the movies and is an absolute delight.Similarly the multi player is great fun, all fans of the films have often wondered who would win out of Drago and Clubber Lang, or even Rocky 1 against Rocky 5. This is a must buy game for boxing fans and Rocky fans alike. Great gameplay, top of the line graphics and the fantastic soundtrack. One of the few minors are that there are only four or five characters you are likely to want to play as, those being the famous ones of the movies, made up characters like Burt Judge or Joe Chan aren’t gonna “scream play as me!”. Of course if you look at Ready to Rumble, they only had brand new made up characters.
